Topic: maternity bras for bigger breasts Posted: 06 September 2009 at 7:43pm |
Hi all, I know I've got quite a bit of time before I need to action this, but I'm looking for some advise.
I've always been bigger breasted (was a DD pre-pregnancy), and I'm growing monsters while pregnant. I'm in a FF now, but am almost ready to graduate to a G cup.
Where do you find maternity bra's in larger sizes? I had a look at the bendon factory shop and they seemed to only go up to a E cup.
Any suggestions would be greatly and gratefully received.

I went to Bendon outlet in Te Rapa today and they definately had some G and even H cups, but they were only 16/18 sizes. Hope that Helps. Otherwise I have heard good things about the BN'T stores..... and someone recommended www.breastmates.co.nz to me (not sure what sizes they do though).

Yeah I have seen some bigger sizes at the Te Rapa Bendon outlet too.
Have a look at maternitydirect.co.nz too. I've found them to be a bit unreliable with communication and delivery but they do have a decent range. Not sure of sizes.
Also try the hot gossip bra shop and really any of the other stand alone underwear shops as they tend to have better customer service and will go the extra mile to get things their customers need. I find big outlet stores like farmers or whatever just see you as a number and kind of fob you off.

Our bendon factory shop has the fayreform range of maternity bras which are all I wear these days! Could you ask your bendon shop if they have any or are likely to get any? I got mine when they were half price at the factory shop, most were $10 each and I think I paid $20 for one of them. Bit better than spending $50-$60 in normal shops!

Try Avokado, they are specifically for D+ cup and have some great specials. I bought a couple of bras from them recently and they are really good
ETA: I just checked and some of their styles go up to a J cup!

Hot Gossip was the best for me as an F cup - look out for Triumph. The staff are really helpful. Farmers didn't seem to have the bigger bras. And avoid Bendon bras, they're really not supportive.
I found a couple of Fayreform bras at the Bendon Outlet store in Te Rapa and they were ok but Triumph the bestest.

Don't buy bendon - zero support, mostly the same with hotmilk too. Fayreform and Triumph are good. Blest Bras in aussie (they have an online store) has some good looking bras as does avokado

I got a womama and a hot milk and a lovable. the womama least supportive. The other two are both padded ones...sounds strange but lady at shop said that padding can actually support better and you know what they do...they lift my boobs up the best! more flattering for bigger busts...who wants to drag to the ground, and if have big boobs they already want to go that way! I was pretty horrified when I found out that the non underwired was the way to go as like as much support as possible!
the sizing for each is different so i say it pays to go to a shop if you can to try on. prepregnancy i was a 14DD but now more a 14-16F.

Hi Claire,
Dont know if this is late for you, I'm "normally" a 12-14 F-G and LOVE the ladies in the bendon outlet stores and the fayreform bras. And, my midwife said that as long as I found underwire bras comfortable and that they fit properly then to continue wearing them

Thanks Nikki - I'm still in underwires at the moment, but I'm starting to find them uncomfy particularly in the afternoon. Thats good to know tho. I'll try and make do until the school holidays and then I might pay them a visit .

I order all my bras online from Blest Bras in Oz (am an H cup), I've found one style that I love and so every 6 months or so I just order a couple of new ones in the same style. This is my fave Maternity Bra and this is my fave non-maternity

I went into BNT in centreplace today and the lady was great.... not sure exactly what size they go up to but would be worth a try.
