Topic: Milk- what do u prefer Posted: 29 March 2008 at 9:35am |
I thought i might try starting a discussion on milk-
i was getting some freshly brewed milk this morning from the cow shed for my kids breakfast, and thought of my granddad saying about how there's nothing better than fresh cows milk. ( blurgh)
Personally I dont drink it as it's so rich and creamy, so just buy my green top at the dairy. Hubby and kids absolutly love cows milk, and find that blue top brought milk tastes "funny". And the cost of buying milk is ridiculas(sp?)
With child #1,as a baby was formular fed, good ol' s26 gold and so on. #2 went on a goats milk formular cos I was told that regular formular didnt help with low immune system and, asthma, bronchitis. something along those lines? I did notice that baby #2 wasnt as "sick" as baby #1- coincidence or not i'm not sure. If baby #3 happens, god only know's what I'll try..lol.
What are your views or stories on good ol' Milk?

Well, not having my baby yet, I cant comment on what he likes, but man.. give me fresh cows milk anyday! (although not from the top of the vat as I learned VERY quickly when I was younger and got fooled into doing by my friends :P) I drink normal old blue top from the supermarket - usually pams cuz it's cheaper

We just have dark blue in our house. Josh drinks it in his bottle, Andrew has a cup of it each day and I don't really drink it at all.
We are going through alot of it at the moment.

Same here turk 13... Dh and the boys have fresh milk from the vat, about 4 litres every 2 days.. and I drink trim milk.. never liked the 'taste' of vat milk lol
Also was told by midwife not to drink it when pregnant which is ok as I dont anyway :)
I go thru 8litres a fortnight of trim milk though..

We all drink blue top here, I used to drink Calci Xtra when the gremlins were on formula but since they've been on cows milk and get thru 9l a week between them it's easier for the whole house to just have the same. None of the rest of us are big milk people, I have it on my cereal and that's it, and Maya doesn't have any at all usually coz she doesn't like it.
