I got the mini pill off my doctor a couple weeks ago when af was due. It decided to be late and has just shown itself which means i have to start it today but the time between getting it and now has made me nervous to take it.
I ended up in hospital ED after taking a normal one with oestrogen in it in 07 because i had a dangerous reaction to it and ended up on steriods for a couple weeks after i was realeased to help my body sort it. The doctors desided im allergic to fake oestrogen. I then went on the jab and became depressed/emotional etc so this is the first time ive been able to bring myself to go back on bc and im petrified.
I think i need some reassurance Also, the ones who have been on the mini pill. Did it take long to concieve once you came off it?

I had a bad mood reaction to taking the combined pill, got quite depressed and irritable (poor DH). So I switched to the mini pill and had no problems with it at all. Was on it for 4 years, stopped a few months before ttc so I could figure out my cycles and got utd the first month of trying. HTH |

Thanks Rovic :) Makes me a feel a little better.
Ill talk to DP about it again when he gets home maybe. Im so petrified! Last time the reaction happened fast. I first noticed it in the shower, 15mins later i was at after hours where i was given stuff to stop it and then 45mins later i was being rushed to hospital because it wouldnt work. I was covered in welts, the biggest taking up my whole back. The only place spared was my face and chest. It was so sore and itchy and then i suddenly was gasping for air I dont want to repeat that when the only reason is because DP 'doesnt like' condoms.

Um, from memory, the MP doesn't have oestrogen in it. It's only progesterone. I can't take oestrogen b/c of increased risk of stroke but I'm fine on the MP.
And I got PG one week after coming off the MP!

i cant go on the normal pill as i suffer from heart problems and migrains , the depo is awful , i hate what it does to me ( weight gain , headaches , mood swings) i find the mini pill the best for me but i do have to make sure i take it at the same time every single day as i got pregnant with DD when i had missed 2 or 3 days of it . so i dont think it takes long to conceive after going off it . i dont get any side effects from it

I had migraines and emotional issues on the normal pills. I still got a little depressed on the MP, but nothing compared to the compined pills.
I got sore boobs and nausia for the first 2 or 3 months, and my periods were super light and I would sometimes go a long time between periods.
Took about 6 cycles to get pregnant afterwards. I think the mini pill would get out of your system faster than the combined pill since you *have* to take it within the same hour every day.

I was taking the mini pill. I've got pregnant twice within 4 weeks of stopping it. I noticed some pretty extreme mood swings while taking it, generally around the time I would get PMS anyway. HTH |

I am the same as you, wouldn't mind getting utd but dp does!
Dp hates condoms but as the depo gave me massive moodswings, head aches, etc I chose to go on the mini pill and as an extra precaution dr told dp and I to use condoms as well.

I have found I feel like I constantly have pms since taking it. No af at all, but we're exclusively bf still.
