Hi all,
Any advice before I spend my hard earned $$ appreciated!
I have always wanted a moby wrap, however my DH saw the P&T Pepe and thought it looked pretty good. Now I'm not sure what to get
If anyone has used these can you let me know what you thought?

Cheers!

Weve got a P&T Pepe and DH prefers to use that. He will use a sling, but finds the Pepe more comfy.

However Issy didnt like it until she got bigger so he used to carry Issy in a sling in the beginning.

We dont have a Moby wrap .. but I couldnt see DH wearing one of those lol
Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months)

P& T Pepe I am assuming is a front pack of some kind (sorry I"m not sure) but I would say most dad's seem to prefer front packs to slings or wrap. At least that has been my experience with my group of friends.
I however love my moby wrap. I have used it from day one and it has sserved me in so many different situations. When they are tiny it helps them feel all safe and secure while you are out then when they get bigger they love to face out and it weight is so nicely distrubted. Still even older and my boy loves sitting on my hip in it. I would say it is worth every single cent you pay.
Maybe ask yourself who is going to be using it more - you or you DH and then decide which would best suit that person.

We have a Moby wrap and it. Both DH and I use it - DH moreso. What's great about it is you can start off with the small baby wraps - peapod style and right up against the chest, and then transition through as they grow. We've just moved Rowan from outward facing to sitting on the hip and sitting on the back.

We don't have a P&T pepe (not sure what that is sorry).

One thing about the Moby though is it can get quite warm wearing it in summer but that's probably true of any carrier I expect.

ETA: If you're in Auckland I'm sure you could organise to go and see the product first hand. That's what I did.

I've wondered about moby wraps before...what's to stop you just using a long bit of material? What's special about the wrap?

Sorry to thread hijack

Nothing really with the standard ones - one of the girls in my coffee group did just that.

But the MobyD has extra material sewn in to make a panel to give it extra strength so it will be ok to use with toddlers.

But it would be a looooong bit of material to hem.

We have a moby and a natures sway sling. My thoughts on the moby are:

I love it, love its versitilaty, although we are still in the early stages. Took awhile to get the hang of wrapping it correctly. But iv got it down pat now and can do it fairly fast. DP is completly lost with it. he cant/wont do it and just likes the over the sholder sling.

Maybe mines just stubborn/dumb :P

We bought a Moby wrap (DH's choice) and DD hates it - she never particularly liked it as a newborn, and even now at 12 months she grizzles if we use it, and we've tried most of the different holds you can use.

I might just have a strange baby though, everyone else raves about them

I LOVE MY Moby!

We had a Dolce and Zoet which was OK, but I felt much more secure with the Moby.
Hannah loves it. She's still small enough to be in cradle position (which is great if she's really unsettled and needs to sleep) but big enough to be on hip or back.
Great for walking the dog without having to manhandle a pram at the same time.

LOL lilfatty, I manage to get Willie to wear lil miss in the Moby so I'm sure you could convince SD

I my Moby. Actually it's not mine, I borrowed it, but I it and so does lil miss. When she sleeps in it she snuggles up and sucks on my greenstone, it's so sweet.
