Topic: morning sickness and gender Posted: 29 May 2011 at 5:14pm |
Just thought I'd put this in the general for more replies from people who have had 2 or more kids!
Have you found that you've been sicker carrying your girl babies rather than your boys or vice vs, or the same?
Im not sure what this one is yet (will find out in four weeks!) but with DD I had morning sickness every day from week 7 till week 20. With this bubs its been from 7 or 8 weeks and seems to have stopped at 15 weeks! friends of mine also seemed sicker carrying girls rather than boys and thought maybe it has to do with the female hormone or something... or not lol.
So what have you found?

Hmmm I vomited in the morning & started feeling better around 11am with my girl but had 24 hour nausea with my boy. Both from 7-14 weeks. Boy I had nausea again at the end.

I had no ms whatsoever with my DD, was one of those glowy mum-to-bes... but not so glowy with this PG! to say the least, only thrown up once but have felt sickly on and off 24/7 since easter, with just a few days reprieve and symptoms started sooo much earlier too, really exhausted! Not sure yet what this littly is, but lots of people suggest a boy because of the difference, but don't think that rings true after reading a bit about it. Who knows

With DD I had bad MS from 6-16 ish weeks and that was it

With DD I think I had worse MS and vomitted once. With this one (a boy) I have't vomitted at all, but still felt nauseous.
Overall, probably worse with DD than this one.

3 boys and the middle one was completely different, I was tired and grumpy and feeling pretty blah right from day of conception, I had gone to the docs to find out what was wrong with me only to discover i was 4 weeks preg........and I had pretty nasty MS and exhaustion through the whole pregnancy....I was under a bit more stress though living in a Different country. Where as my first I got MS from 7 weeks, just pretty average sea sickness feeling MS, but not too bad, I was only 18yrs old and my last boy who is coming up 18months I got no symptoms even though I knew I was preg at 3.5weeks, but my MS kicked in exactly 6weeks to the day, but with the aid of ginger tablets was only annoyingly bad for a few weeks, I never had any time off work, so wasnt that bad, and I felt the healthiest through this pregnancy (if you dont count the small stroke I had)
So 3 boys, 3 different.....and only my first was to a different Dad.

I've only had one bub but had horrid MS from 6wks - 18wks. Was more like 'all day sickness'. Couldn't even think about food without vomitting, so basically lived on lemonade popsicles for first little while! Even spewed on myself whilst driving to work (on the motorway so couldn't stop). That was pretty awesome lol. Hoping that next time round I don't get it quite so bad. Made it VERY difficult to hide the pregnancy from work colleagues as I was running to the loo every 20mins.

I had 24 hour nausea ond the odd vomit with both pregnancies so both very similar and had a boy and then a girl. only difference was I had it until 17weeks with DS and only had it until 12ish weeks with DD.
My mum had 2 totally different pregnancies and had 2 girls so hard to tell lol

Two boys here.
Had mild/moderate MS with J (mostly nausea with the occasional spew).
No MS at all with W (was still BF though, which I've heard helps?)

With DS I was sick with bad nausea from 6 weeks until about 13 weeks(that was gagging, watery mouth and vomited 2 times) with DD I had mild to moderate nausea from 7ish weeks until 12 ish weeks, no vomiting or watery mouth.
This one I started feeling really sick at 4 weeks, so started on maxalon anti nausea pills, which helps heaps, but now it seems to be slowly going away, I have sick patches rather than feeling sick all day long, but the patches can be quite bad, like yesterday i felt really sick
I think this one might be a boy, but wont find out until its born! (found out at the scans with the other two)

My sister had quite bad MS with both of her girls and was much better with her DS :) She was only really sick for the first trimester rather than the whole pregnancy. I only have one DS and the MS was not too bad with him, just the first trimester too :)

With DS I had nausea from about 6 weeks through to 28, with actual vomit. I was working crazy hours and not eating at proper times though.
With DD I had nausea from around same time but til 19 weeks or so. I remmeber cause we went overseas and I was crook as the whole time and when we came back I was fine. Typical. I rememeber being actual sick a few times cause it was always when I was coopking DS breakfast and I couldn't make it to the loo so threw up in the sink. and DS would laugh at me.
