Hi all,
Looking for advice from pregnant kiwis who moved over to aussie. I am currently already in Sydney, Neutral Bay. I have been here for almost two weeks. I have visted the Medicare office and got the papers and waiting for my old company to send me my termination of employment letter. I want to know how long does it take to get medicare sorted? I am due to fly back to new zealand to pack up the rest of my belongings and for my one year old daughter to visit the orthopeadics to get new boots for her treatment. I am currently 26 wees pregnant and am flying back at 28 weeks pregnant. I need some advice in regards to how long medicare takes? Thank you
sorry i am flying back to nz at 28 weeks pregnant and then come back to sydney at 33 weeks pregnant to have the baby in sydney. My partner has been in sydney for the last 5 months sorting out our life in aussie.
Once we could supply all the info tashbet it was really quick - within the month from memory? From memory they also used to reimburse any cost incurred in the mean time but that was a couple of years ago so it may have changed. There are a few more Mum's on here that are in Oz, or who like me have been in OZ and they might have more info.
Thank you very much. I guess I will give them the forms and tell them I need the passport back as soon as possible as I am travelling back to NZ to pick up my daughters orthopeadic boots from starship and also my pregnancy notes from my private midwife. That is great that they reimburse any cost.
Where are you located in Aussie? I have moved to Neutral Bay, Sydney and I am looking for a good hospital or doctor.
I have read a few other mums blogs and forum post so I have an idea what to expect.
