Hey there,
I'm doing a uni project at the moment regarding music played to babies in the womb, and it would be amazing to get any feedback!
I'm looking at designing a speaker that is applied directly to the stomach, instead of the headphones which are usually used.
My question is, is this a product that you would use? And if so, would you prefer it to be something that sticks on itself or a design that could be held in the hand?
And other ideas would be appreciated! I feel like there is a big gap in the market for a product like this.

I'd use it if it were cheaper than headphones. I suspect I'd probably be fine with handheld, but I can see the attraction for a stick on of some sort! I think it's a neat idea- so many households don't have big old headphones nowadays, and earbuds just aren't the same.

Dunno, always just turned the stereo up in the house or car. Mind you don't have an ipod or the like.

Nope, but then I'm not the type to hold headphones to my tummy either. I figure the baby can just listen to what I hear.
Interestingly enough, Jacob had basically zero exposure to music which he was a bump, and boy, that kid loves music. So I'm not too worried I'm depriving this one of a life-long passion.

I listened to a rain cd for 6 months of my pregnancy with Phoenix and after he was born it was the only thing that would settle him down to sleep, so we played the rain cd in his room on a lil cd player.

I recon a belt with small head phones built in that you could attach an ipod or mp3 player too would work well.

I hardly ever listen to music so DD didnt get much exposure, but as soon as she hears it she is dancing away. I wouldnt use it, doesnt seem right to me to blast your baby with sound, they can hear enough without us forcing it on them

That's a great idea, maybe look at the same sort of design they use for fetal CTG scans?
