   Hi ladies!
I'm Anna, I'm 29 and my SO and I are just starting to TTC. As in, I have decided to stop taking my BCP as of tonight, and see what happens to my body! All the while, having fun TTC. I'm not worried about charting stuff or anything, at this point... but any advice or anything would be appreciated :)

** Also I'm not great at this forum stuff, so any help here is appreciated too.

Hey Boni! Exciting stuff, good luck with everything!
I'm not TTC quite yet so only have one thing that might be worth mentioning -my doc advised to be taking folic acid if there was any chance of getting pregnant :) so you may want to look into that have fun!

Welcome Boni and yay about TTC! If you want a really simple 'plan' for TTC, have a look at this:
 http://www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm
(just ignore the ovulation testing if you're not worried about that yet)
There are a lot of abbreviations used here and it took me awhile to figure them out but somewhere there is a list on what they all mean...might go hunt it out for ya |

   welcome and goodluck Boni
You can get folic acid from your doc $3 for a 3 month supply. Or from the health shop about $15 a month. Just be sure to get 800mcgs/0.8mg

   Hi Anna/Boni,
 Welcome to OB
I came off of the pill just over a fortnight ago and have been taking folic acid for about a month. I found mine at the supermarket.
Good luck for your journey |

   Hi Bonnie,
We're in the same boat, just stopped the pill and seeing what happens.

My doc has given me a prescription for folic acid, but also iodine which is apparently now recommended as well. Might be worth a visit.

A Dr visit could be a good idea as they can check your reubella immunity as well - and the folic acid / iodine is cheaper as well (after that you will be able to ring & just ask for repeat prescriptions)
Also if you have a smear due could be a good time to get that out of the way to!

   Hi Boni
We've just started trying too - good luck!

Crazycass - I went to the doc for a folic acid script, but he didn't ask about my rubella immunity? i know i had the shots when i was young, so i assume i'm immune but... I wonder if i should go to a different doc who is a bit more pro-active!

Jem you're a lifesaver, i was getting so confused trying to figure out what all the abbreviations meant! haha

   Hi Hun, (lol) Welcome :)
I'll go to the doc, I have had a recent smear but haven't had a MMR shot since school so will have that checked. And folic acid AND iodine? Noted.

Lol Hun, i'm still struggling with the abbreviations.. OMG EW @ CM

It can take some time for the majority, but then again others do regulate very quickly.
hopefully things settle down for you soon, aches and pains are always a nasty pain in the ass that we all could do without

Ah okay, well I bought some folic acid at the chemist today so I'll start taking that now anyway. And I'll hopefully go see my doc after easter sometime. :)
Still aching and heavy bleeding today. Ew. Lol.
