Topic: Newborn passport photos Posted: 18 February 2009 at 1:31pm |
Any tips on how to get a baby passport photo. Harper is just not playing the game and I need to send away for his passport asap.
How do you get a one month old to face the camera, eyes open, mouth closed, arms down and both ears visible?? We've tried everything we can think of but bless him he thinks it's a game and gets all excited. We've tried at the chemist and at home and it's not happening.

if you have the time I would take your photos into the Dep of whoever it is and ask them. thats what I did because it took us forever to get Addisons ones and in the best one she had her mouth open and her hair covering one ear so I took a few into the offices and they said it would be fine and that they generally dont expect the baby ones to be perfect. Although in saying that I know when my nephew needed a passport he was in NICU and they sent his application back because there were to many cords/tubes and wires in the photo!!

Thanks my2angels, in that case I have a couple that might just be alright. I'll take them in and see what they have to say.
How long does the passport last for? If it lasts for 5 years even he'll look completely different within a year.
Thanks Dal - ahh yes my massage that was never meant to be. Still planning to get one when I have got my A into G.
We're off to Brisbane and the Gold Coast next month, was for a friends wedding but it has been cancelled so we're just going to go and have a little holiday instead. Mum went back to KZ on Monday night. No plans to go there at the mo, or ever, far too cold and nothing to do. Might meet her somewhere again later though rather than her coming all the way home.

Ours were done when DD was 2 days old on the way back from the birth centre. They put the white background on the ground and lay her on it. She was awake but not as wiggly as a 1 month old. Good luck.

We got Ashy's passport pic done at one week - We took in two different shots into the Department place, one with eyes half closed and the other with her mouth open and tongue poking out a little. They accepted the second one, much to my surprise! Good luck

I went into the actual Kodak shop in our local mall - they took loads of Oli before they had one that they could use. It took a while, but they got one in the end.

we went into a chemist, took 3 visits before we got the one and I could see their faces drop everytime we walked in and Addison would just start screaming but the lady was trying to get it perfect when it just wasnt going to happen.

AprilFools, Alia travelled in October on a passport that she got at 6mths old.
The customs people are trained to look for traits in features. I took her birth cert just incase but didn't need to use it.
I have to get Coopers pictures done too.

I just took him to a kodak store and they took the photo. They took about 10 photos but then they got a good one. I think because they are seeing a new face they look at them better or something.
