Good Morning,

I have a what I think is a huuuuge problem, as does my partner. We have a nearly 2 year old daughter, we both work full time, little Missy wakes approx 2-3 times a night atm due to the heat ( I think) which I am getting up to. My partner doesnt hear her, and I just automatically roll out of bed and attend to her. I start work at half 6 in the morning so am up at half 5. For the last I dont even know how long now, I havent had any desire for sex and this is causing massive issues for my partner. I have tried to explain to him that its not him, its me, Im tired all the time, have no energy. I love him with all my heart and have told him this, but just dont have any 'cravings' so to speak. (watching porn hasnt even done 'anthing ' for me). Its causing so much stress for me as well as I seem to be the problem, and I dont know how to 'turn it back on' so to speak. Really looking for some advice from others who may have experienced this. I would like another child, but this isnt a good advertisment for having another one.. Im despaerate, and feel like Im on the edge. Any advice would be welcomed.

This is my situation as well! My daughter is 6 months old and we've only "done the deed" once. That was just to keep him happy, I had no desire at all to do it. My sex drive has taken such a plummeting, I've explained that it's all me and not you to my other half and he seems to understand. Don't know how long that will last! I'll be keen to hear any advice to get the desire back as well :)

Don't be too hard on yourself :-)

Mummabear16 - my midwife told me that when you are breast feeding your body releases a hormone that dampens the sex drive which is natures way of naturally slowing down the reproduction process so soon after having a baby. So this could be a reason... if you are breastfeeding...

Piscesmama, do you have family that could look after her for the night so you guys can have some alone time? Or can you both pull a sickie one day during the week :-)

Also, sometimes my daughter wakes in the night, I hear her on the monitor but I wait to see if she will go back to sleep, 99% of the time she does so I just go back to sleep as well, you could try that to get a little more sleep...

kiwicutie - I sure am breastfeeding. I remember reading that breastfeeding can have something to do with that, but it's interesting to now know why. Thank you! Makes a bit more sense now lol :)

Hi ladies... you may want to get your doctor to check your prolactin levels. High prolactin levels can cause tiredness and a reduced libido. Just a thought... even if it's not that, it is worth talking to your Doctor about it (as embarrassing as it is!) because there can be medical reasons...

I'm planning on going to the doctors next week anyway, so I'll try to remember to mention it!

Piscemama- Sounds to me your just really tired! Also since its been quite awhile the joys seem to lose effect and you just don't want it anymore. If you could maybe get a babysitter for a night, go out for dinner and a movie or something fun for you both to enjoy and see how your night turns out. Also talk to him about trying to get up with your child. I have to kick DH every night to wake him when our DS wakes but he will get up and do him if ds wakes. If he does for a couple of nights and then you guys have a night out you might just feel up to it one night
