Hi,
I have been doing some research on cot mattresses.... and am shocked to find the kinds of chemicals used to make them!!! OMG!

Anyways- I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Innature latex/wool mattresses?
Its a kiwi company, NZ made by themselves, and all natural, no chemicals.
Latex seems to be ideal, and everyone Ive spoken to with Latex bedding says they swear by it.
Why is it such uncommon knowledge?? Im a bit dazed by it all really.

Anyone else made the investment in a natural mattress?? If so- are there other brands to choose from?

I swear by Innature -- we featured them in an issue of OHbaby! Magazine. I have a king single Innature coco/latex mattress on my daughter's bed and if I had the money, I'd get them to make me one for my superking bed. I have met the company owners a few times and think they are very passionate about what they do. I personally think they are the best brand out there and highly recommend them. If I have another baby, I will be replacing our innersprung cot mattress with one of their natural cot mattresses.

Yikes - sounds fabulous but I'm afraid our budget didn't stretch to that I looked into Nature Baby's organic wool/cotton ones when I was pregnant too, so that's another option - I imagine it'd be more like a futon mattress than a bed mattress (like the latex ones would be) IYGWIM.

I haven't bought a mattress from them, but did buy an amber teething necklace (which she sells as a sideline), so visited their premises, and got some info on the mattresses - the lady that owns the place is really lovely and passionate about what they do. I think we will be buying a single bed mattress from them when the time comes (I didn't know about them before buying the cot mattress)

We have one for James' cot, we have latex mattresses (different company) on our other beds because my Dh and I have dust allergies and asthma. We figured we wanted the same for our boy. I didn't want to put a Dr sprott cover on a mattress cause I didn't like the plastic, so I think that this combats his theory on cot death (if that makes sense), ie there isn't any poisonous gas cause its all natural. We can use it for other children too so yeah its expensive but worth it.

Also we ordered it one afternoon and it was at my front door before I woke the next morning. West Auck-Te Puke. Great Service

I have one 4" latex/wool mattress for Holly, its really nice and soft, I felt the same about all the chemicals, and it just seemed ridiculous buying a plastic cover to seal them all in????!!!!!! Would love one for my bed too!!

I have the same thoughts about mattresses as you kitkat. We haven' t spent much at all on bubs and are being very careful not to go over board but the mattress and to a certain extent the rest of the bedding is the one area we will. I had planned on getting a nature baby mattress but will also look into innature a bit more. Unfortunately we will have to get whatever one we pick custom made as we have given an old fashioned cradle to use which is not the standard size.
