Topic: oh the heat Posted: 28 January 2006 at 5:42pm |
it is 5.40pm here, and even with every door and window open in the house it is still 30 degrees in here.
I have decided that next time i get pregnant it will be during winter at least that way i can put clothes on if i get cold, there is only so much i can take off as i get hotter and hotter.
I have spent the better part of the afternoon lying naked on my bed, underneath a window, too hot to move, to hot to sleep, to hot to do anything.
Oh well i suppose that if it was winter i would be complaining about how cold it is or the rain or something.

Yeap i made it through the night last night, i ended up waking my hubby to go get me a cold flannel as i started feeling all funny because of the heat,
I fell asleep with it over my eyes and forehead, and i woke up a few hours later and the flannel was almost dry.

I find that a fan right next to the bed helps me sleep.

My parents are here from Oz so have stolen both my bed and my fan. Slept on the fold out couch in the stinking hot lounge....

At the moment my lounge is the coolest room in house because it has a ranchslider door at each end and the little breeze that there is is coming thru both doors. It going to be another hot one tonight.

My house is a nightmare. Freezing in winter coz of the gappy wooden joinery and wooden floors, but really hot in summer because of the conservatory which attracts the afternoon sun thru the whole house.
Not to mention the grass growing thru Maya's bedroom floor (long story), the shot spouting, the privet which was supposed to be trimmed in November, the leaky wash house tap..... Can you tell I have a slack land lord?
Thank God we're moving in a few weeks.

Ughhhh They sound like very slack landlords!! We are so lucky that:
1. Our landlords rock
2. We're friends with them! (we go to church with them!!!)
It makes things so much easier. Plus they own the much bigger house in front which we have dibs on when the current people eventually move.

Damn hot weather - cant get Hannah to sleep in the evening. Her room is in the sun all aftrnoon and evening and is sooo hot even with the curtains pulled all day and windows open and a fan. Oh well, I guess we'd be complaining if it was cold that we arent having any summer - cant win aye!
