go and hide under my bed lol. It has already forced me out of the kitchen, far to close the window for my liking, especially when I can see the storm closing in and the lightening getting closer.
Doesn't help that I'm home alone. Well Spencer is here and so are 2 dogs and 4 cats but they all look more scared than me.

 Thunderstorm survival tips

 1. Open 2 windows one at the front and one at the back of the house - if the lightening stricks close by it will stop the vacuum from sucking out or smashing your windows

 2. Unplug your TV aerial - I have a friend who had lightening come through their TV aerial and blast them across there lounge.

 3. Make sure you have a surge protector that also does you phone line/internet connection, if not unplug phone/computer

 4. Hide under bed.

Time for number 4 for me

 See ya

it is scary especially when we live in a two story and the living rooms are on top, which is where I am and the wind is hammering the house, as well as the thunder and oh s*!t, there goes the lightening.... |

OMG i shat my pants when the first thunder bolt struck!! it rattled all the windows and i felt in through the floor      i love lightening but thunder just scares the life out of me!
my poor cat was slinky around the lounge doing that weird meow they do when scared, then she started panting....my poor baby.
DH had to go put tape on the windows in the bedrooms because they looked and sounded like the glass was going to bust out!

Thank god it has passed and I am now out from under the bed.
Hey jack & charli, that is exactly why you have to open windows, allows the vacuum to pass through without ripping them out. Is scary though cos it makes the storm louder.
One of my cats just didn't know what to do, he ran out of the cat flap, not smart, he came in 2 seconds later with all his hair puffed up lol
I text DH and he just text back Chicken, its probably reached his work now, as you guys got in down in sunny christchurch.

wanna send it my way!!!???? i love thunder storms, df doesnt though. i remember one morning when i was still pg with tash he went to go milk at like 5am and just as he opened the door it thundered and lighteninged at the same time. he shut the door and came back to bed.
i love the sound of the rain and hail and thunder. when i was lil i used to be terrified of thunder, then my grandma told me it was just God playing ten pin bowling or moving his furniture around lol.

I had a gran who use to hide in her cellar!!!! Did nothing to help stop anyone elses fear.
I was actually not too bad with lightening and thunder until I was stuck in a traffic jam and the lightening struck a tree in the field next to the motorway about 10 meters away, very scary.
