Topic: Palmerston North Shopping Help Posted: 08 September 2008 at 5:01pm |
Hi Ladies,
Hope some of you Palmy ladies can help me...
I'm coming up to PN for business on Thursday and wonder what the best 'gift' shops in PN are.
I'm after fairly trendy/high turnover sort of places.
I'm selling our chocolates, which are currently in places like Living and Giving and other gift-y places - you might have seen the "Emergency Chocolate" and "Bochox" bars. Also looking for any high turnover tourist shops for our tourist range of chocs. Anywhere in PN spring to mind?
Really appreciate your help!
Hope this is allowed - not self promoting honest!

I don't know, see there is a place on broadway that specialises in selling choc and fudge and other goodies like that which are very very yummy. All the gift type places I can think of don't have eatibles in their range

It doesn't matter if they don't have other 'eating' stuff. Our choc is primarily classed as 'impluse' for buyers, we try to keep out of the confectionary game as we can't complete on price...
We try for that section of the market that is looking for a 'top-up' for an exisiting girt, or for people who are looking for a quick gift to go with a card, but not spend too much...
Hope that makes sense!
I'll def. go to the Broadway place...can you give me an idea what it's close to?

Sadly we don't have living in giving.
Try Wildly Gifted in George St, in fact any of the shops on George St would be an ok place. They've got alternative fashion stores etc.
Also on Victoria st is a shop called 'Something Different' they're a gift shop and might be interested.
Will you be coming to Feilding? As there is a new kitchen ware shop just opened which might be a place to go, also the cinema, or even Poppy's book store.

What about some of the nice florists? The ladies who run the one in the Plaza shopping centre are lovely, and there is a nice (quite big) one up in the Terrace End shops.

There isn't a florist in the Plaza at the moment.

There is a florist in Downtown though, and that's not too far from Munchkins.
Munchkins also came to mind for me first-off. But I think there is also a gift shop (sort of a bulk gift shop for companies to staff or something I think????) near the corner of Queen and Rangitikei Streets, on Queen Street. I have forgotten the name of it but they have gold writing on the window.

Is that because of the renovations Becks? Wonder where they are now - I use them a lot for sending flowers to family down there!

Theres that kitcheny-type gift shop in the plaza next to the food court. I can't for the life of me think of the name though! Is that still there?
I'd second Streets Ahead, thats where I'd go for that type of gift.
