Topic: Periods after a miscarriage Posted: 21 September 2010 at 10:40am |
Hello ladies,
A wee question for you . . . . after your miscarriage, did your periods fall straight back into their usual pattern?
I have had one period since my miscarriage, and we have started trying again. My usual cylcle is as regular as clock work - bang on 25 days.
Im now at cycle day 28, and still no period. . . . dont feel pregnant - none of the usual signs are present .... such as sore boobs, sickness, etc. I am however, DOG TIRED!
Dont want to get my hopes up that I am pregnant, but cant help but think about it.
What are your thoughts / experiences??
Many thanks!!

i found with my miscarriages ie 4 of them, each one was different as to getting my cycle back on track. sometimes it dropped straight back to 30 days and once went to 45 days!! so my answer would be dunno really... probably not much help.
take care and good luck

Hi
I was like you before my mc, had very regular cycle of 29-30 days. My first AF arrived 41 days after mc. I was monitoring things and I think I ovulated around CD29 which is when my usual AF would have arrived.
The next month my cycle was 32 days, the one after that was 35 days, and this one was 32 days (just got AF today)
So for me it took just one cycle to settle down and it seems it's just a few days longer now too. I count my blessings as quite a few ladies have to put up with some very long cycles!
I hope things regulate for you soon.

Hi LoRo, really I think everyone's bodies respond quite differently after MC, but here is what happened for me:
I have always been a regular 27-28 day cycle. After my first MC (D&C) AF arrived exactly 28 after then 26 days then 27 days then 29 days but then 33 days after which I went to a naturopath for some help (as I really didn't feel like I was oving) and the next cycle I am pretty sure would of been 28 days however I got UTD so who knows. After my 2nd MC I went to see a naturopath straight away and they are back to being my usual 27-28 days.
Anyway what I am trying to say is even if your cycle initaly comes back as usual sometimes it can go out of wack afterwards. However there is every possibility that you could be UTD again, I guess the only way to tell is to test hun good luck.

I think af came back for me after about 6 weeks. It hasnt been regular since. Its nearly been a year now Some months i have a 35 day cycle, other months is a 20 day cycle.
Perhaps going on something like the pill might of made my cycle regular again but i have been TTC since then, with no luck.
Best thing would be to take a PG test. Just so you know. Since i have had a m/c i get alot of pregnancy symptoms when i have my period now which is frustrating.
FX everything goes back to normal for you soon

Just to add my experience:
After MC and pregnancies my AF never went back to "normal" - pre conception routine. I think my MW said it was something to do with the hormone levels in your body and how they can/can't regulate your cycle. I've always been a 28 days on the dot (almost to the hour) person but after ds it went really haywire then after my MC it went down as low as 23 days and then was starting to settle down at 26 days (boo to that I say!). Our bodies are an interesting thing some times.
Try not to get too upset if it's not back to "normal" as fast as you'd like, just keep on tracking how long it's taking each time.
(((((hugs)))))

Go and see a private OB-GYN. It will cost you about $240 and you'll have piece of mind and they will give you the advice you need. They will scan you there and then, and tell you straight away what's going on. Good Luck.
