    Posted: 10 January 2010 at 1:04pm
Hi there
A friend of mine has recently started a petition to try and persuade Pharmac to fund epipens. Overseas they are funded quite substantially

Please help this cause by becoming a fan of the facebook page
And also by signing the online petition (there is a link on the page)

If they can fund flavoured condoms, then part funding for these expensive life savings devices shouldnt be too much to ask

Thanks!

It always amazes me with the funding. You can get a truck of panadol for $3 but other drugs that are really really needed cost a fortune. They should just make us all pay full price for things like panadol and put all that extra cash into funding the expensive life saving drugs.

I will join the page and sign the petition

Nope, they don't even partially fund them. And they expire after one year as well.
In Aussie you can get 2 for $30 a year I think.

Yeah its horible, i have to pay something like $170 p/ epipen, only one shot and they expire after 12ish months. Last time i managed to get WINZ to pay for it coz I can't afford it, and i need it.

In the UK they are probably free for children as you don't pay any prescription charges for under 18s.

Woman I worked with paid $300 for two pens for her daughter and that was about 3 years ago. It's so shocking, especially as they expire so quickly as well.

I can't believe they're not funded!

I also fail to understand why flavoured condoms ARE.
