Mines the dentist.

I can jump out of an areoplane, public speaking is a breeze and i've even been know to get up and lead 300 conference delegates in Karaoke, but put me in a dentist chair and I shake, turn white, break out in a sweat and hyperventilate or faint and go into shock.

Unfortuantely i take after my mums side of the family and they have bad teeth. I mainly put it down to a bad experience as a kid when the school dental nurse tried to give me an injection in the back of the throat(back then the needles were about 12cm long)and she missed and had to do it about four times. Then after all that she finally saw a not on my records that said only the family dentist was allowed to work on our teeth.

Also had a top brace and I have never been to the denist where they have said "your teeth are fine lets just give them a clean today" so all my associations with the dentist are of pain and fear.

While I know its bad I think I have now only been to the dentist 5 times since I left school about 15 years ago.
Am severly hoping that I don't have any problems with my teeth with this pregnancy

Wow, I'm suprised I'm the first one to say so... But I'm sh*t scared of clowns.

I've even freaked out and siad to one (throught gritted teeth) to 'get the f**k away from me' when I was at a carnival with my brothers and sisters and he came up to us to offer the littlies a balloon.

This is cause when I was about 4, we went to a Webber Brothers Circus when we were living in the states, and I was the lucky 'sniff my flower' victim and was squirted in the eye, then he ruffled my hair and got his finger stuck in my hair and had this freaky giggle thing going on which just scared the crap outta me.

Ever since then I've kept my hair pretty short (up unitl recently) and avoided clowns at all costs. I've only just managed to summon up the courage to watch a scene of the Simpsons with Krusty the Klown in it.

But funnily enough, I can watch IT and it doesn't scare me one bit. Strange.
My wee girl is the love and light of my life!

Me too. I hate bees, I do anything to avoid them (and look ridiculous trying to get away from them). When one is stuck inside I leave the house or lock myself in another room until DH has dealt with it. I am quite proud to say though that a couple of weeks ago there was a bee on the floor in Michaela's room at bedtime and since DH was out I had to get rid of it.

It's not a completely unreasonable fear. When I get stung I swell up something chronic and have to take antihistamines.

I'm afraid of bees and wasps but that's because I'm allergic to them. I don't really know how to work on this, we recently had to get a nest sprayed, it was right next to my spa pool so it was killing my relax time.

I'm afraid of rats and mice, they're just gross. They've got horrid bodies. We live sort of in the bush and I'm still working on this. We put bait down amongst other things to get rid of them.

I'm afraid of open curtains at night time. It was to the point where I would stand in a doorway and just about pee my pants if I was in a house where I had to pass a window to get to the toilet at night. This comes from a couple of unpleasant childhood experiences. I don't close the curtains at home and most of the windows don't even have them. It still freaks me out but I force myself to deal with it. I'm a big girl now. Sort of.

And I'm afraid of socks. I HATE them. DH finds this hilarious and winds me up because of it. I just don't like them, I feel like my feet are going to rot. They're just yuck. I wear stocking type things instead.
