HAs anyone had physio for back / hip pain post baby? If so did it help and what kind of treatments work.

I have been in hideous pain since i had Gabriella with my hips collapsing and back getting very very sore at times. I saw a friends dad on weekend at a party who is a physio and told me he is always seeing women post pregnancy...shame he works tooo far away to see him.

Also is it covered by ACC? or a private thing?

ACC might cover it I do know that any Physio work is free in the first 6wks after having baby.

Which isn't much help to you though I'm sure ACC would cover it though.

Mine clicked out a lot in the beginning and for the first year. Your body is still full of hormones that was used to soften all the ligaments so might happen a bit more often in the first year.

I am sure physio will work for it. If you start doing a bit of pilatis as well it should help. I dont think the bit of extra "padding" that I carry helped at all.

I have had similar problems to you bomshell. I have just recently been seeing a physio as I have had middle back pain and neck and shoulder back pain - have also had pins and needles feelings in my head. My physio rcommended that I fill out ACC forms as I know that it is pretty much related to lifting my baby etc etc. So far the physio has been really good. I have also had some accupuncture (Sp?). Hope that you are able to get some help with your pain.

acupuncture works on me normally so might ask re that too....

and i dont think her being 9 pound 8 helped either...nor the 30 kilos i put on...argh!!!

my mw is referring me to physio, mines mroe due to the size of James as apparently it can have alot of damage on my body later on down the track like back and abdominal.
if its related to pregnancy then its covered by ACC so its free
