I had arranged to meet with Katherine this afternoon to go over some OHbaby! stuff, and I got a babysitter in to stay with the gremlins. I got her thru SJS and she's been a few times, but I've never left her on her own with the girls.
I left her an itemised list of what to do, not so hard really, all she had to do was feed them when they woke up and play with them till they had to go back to bed.
I had been gone less than half an hour when the babysitter rang me and said Sienna wouldn't stop screaming. I went thru a checklist of things to see what the problem was and she had no idea so I told her to walk around the house with her for 5 minutes and I'd call back.
I call back and they were both screaming. So I said "I'm coming home" and she said "no, no, don't come home, I'm ok." I don't think so!
So I flew home and both babies were screaming on the floor, picked them up and they were happy as. I told the babysitter to go and she had the nerve to ask me to pay her! I don't think so!
I am sooooo mad! If she didn't think she could cope she shouldn't have bothered accepting the job, and then to expect me to pay her when I've wasted time and gas going all the way out to Botany for nothing!

Honestly!
What did she think you were going to do when you had to make an urgent trip home to your distressed children? Give her a hug and pay her double?
I'd have given her a kick too for good measure ...

Anyone who knows the gremlins knows that they are pretty easy-going babies (now at least, not so when they were smaller) so I'd love to know what she did to rark them up in the first place. Poor wee things

I surely did! And the lady I spoke to said rather incredulously "she's studying primary teaching, I think she's picked the wrong career"
Of course with hindsight I feel a little sorry for her coz she was really frazzled and stressed (she was crying when I got home) but at the same time she took on the job knowing she was going to be left home alone with them so if she didn't think she could cope she should have said no...

Sheesh Emma that sucks! From a nannys point of view here, if you cant even settle a bub, AND you dont even pick them up off the floor to help settle them, Id be rather ashamed!
Its the first thing that should be done!
Good thing you didnt pay her,fancy expecting to be paid! Uh uh girlfriend...
