Topic: pink/brown spotting at 6 weeks? Posted: 08 August 2009 at 1:36pm |
Hi,
This Q is on behalf of a friend.
She is about 6 weeks along, had implantation spotting at 7 days after conception. She has had regular HCG's over the last 2 weeks which just over doubled at each test (she is high risk) Scan last week couldn't see the yolk but may have been too early. She now has slight brown/pink spotting. Symptoms/sickness and tiredness still going strong...
So, my q is - who out there has had the spotting as above and been ok - I know there are quite a few out there... I so hope everything is ok!! I have a good positive feeling though that the baby is fine.

Not only did I have spotting I bled constantly from 6 weeks until....well I'm still going. I've had several early scans and everything looks fine, little peanut with heartbeat and hormone levels doing the right thing. Obviously it's not "normal" but cramps and clots are the bad signs.

I'm so pleased - well not pleased you have to go through that as im sure you will be worried all the time - but pleased to hear that it happens. It will be just her luck unfortunatly that she will have a scary road too

I MC at 6 and a half weeks, Hadnt been nauseous really, had only had two waves, so cant really help on that front, but the cramps and the clotting are big give aways, I barely spotted for one afternoon, and nothing over night (I wasnt worried) but then by lunch time there was heaps of bright red blood, I didnt really get cramps, but ended up with massive clots...
GL to your friend, I hope she has a sticky one!

Until the hormones drop down low enough, yes you still feel nauseous and pregnant (I'm speaking from past experience). This time when I started bleeding at 6 weeks I rang the Maternity Walk In clinic in Greenlane and they booked me the next day for an early ultrasound and did my hormone levels. It was good to know what was going on rather than days/weeks of stressful waiting.

When I had a MC last year I had red/brown spotting and that was it. I didnt get any nausea or cramping at all. I only started getting cramping when I went in for the D&C 10 days after the bleeding started.
This pregnancy I had spotting from 4 weeks to 8 weeks and all is ok
I hope your friend is ok and the bleeding stops soon

I had bleeding at 6 weeks for over a week and again at 10 weeks for a couple of days. Had a scan at the 6 week point and they said it could possibly miscarry but bubs is still all good at 22 weeks today! Felt a bit nauseous and sore boobs the whole time but after 10 weeks the proper nausea and vomitting kicked in - the joys! hope your friends bubba sticks!
