He has had a rough week (see other thread) and then today - bless him, he made his own doc appt and consequently doc put on BP meds, and he is now going to attend a clinic to help reduce risks to his longterm health. I am pleased as it may mean the difference between him being around for a while (eg years to come) and me being a widow at a relatively young age.
Then he has been sick too - well turns out he has bronchitis! So he came home with a bag full of drugs!!

But then tonight he get the call he has been waiting for - his Nana passed away tonight in CHCH - we are down there in two weeks so it means Gabriella will never meet her now. He wasnt close close to his nana but still.....it will be good timing for us to be there to see his Grandad and am sure he will get joy from seeing gabriella after losing his wife.

has been a rough week on my poor DH....will be glad when this week is over....

Oh no Hopefully that is it for your run of bad things.
My DH's granny died when DD was two weeks old and they live down south too, so she never got to see her only great grand daughter either. It's very sad and I know how you feel. BSDH's grand dad will love seeing Ella, I'm sure.
Hope your hubby is feeling better really quickly.

Aw, you poor little family! You have all had a lot on your plates lately. It is so good that BSDH is taking control of his health and making positive changes for the future. That's a big step and he deserves lots of kudos for taking it all on his own. But it's very sad about his nana passing away -- I'm so sorry. Big, big hugs to you and to BSDH at this time -- it's always hard when someone passes away. I am thinking of you! |

Sorry to hear about the loss in the family. Maybe this will bring it even closer to home for him. I am glad that he seems to start making changes. Good on you BSDH. |

Hugs BS and BSDH, the trip to Christchurch will be so precious. We have photos of me aged about 6 mths on my great grandmothers knee, she passed away when I was 4 so I never met her, but the photo's are so sentimental.
And good on you for taking charge with your health BSDH, having Maya was the motivation Willie needed to go to the doc and get his blood pressure etc. sorted. Stubborn males huh?

I know his granddad will love to see ella again...he sits and looks at her while holding her and it is sooo lovely to see....he is now her last remaining great grandparent.

oh he is doing ok...hes on med for BP now and sees doc on wed...but he has the patience of a gnat and can get riled up so easily and it does his BP no good..he needs to find ways of responding to things, situations and ME different than he does now....
the nana thing is now a matter of waiting to see what happens with estate, going to see his grandad in 2 weeks and hope that seeing ella will help him, and move on from there....

hope this is a much better week as yest we VERY narrowly avoided a 7 car pile up on motorway (had we not changed lanes we would have been in it - with ella!) and then avoided an old lady going wrong way round the roundabout at new highbrook motorway exit - had we not been in my truck and sitting up higher we would have hit her head on (again with ella in car!!!)

OMG - and even tho i bought lotto ticket i did not win...bugger!
