Hmmmm, maybe it's only a procedure of the Counties District Health Board for preterm babies discharged from CDHB care to have audiology tests at 3 months. I know of another lady and her preterm boy who lives in Botany and he was a Middlemore NICU baby so falls under CDHB care and had to go for the audiology test as well. Maybe because your Emma was in Auckland hosp follow-up care is different for the area? Strange as you would think follow-up care would be standard for preterm babies all over the country. But I guess as each health board is run differently to the next, they each have their own rules and procedures (just to confuse us

). Maybe they already did the audiology test in the hospital before Emma was discharged but you were not aware of it? If you think Emma is reacting well to sound etc then you've probably got nothing to worry about there. But if you are concerned I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask the Dr to check back on her hospital notes for you whether she needs a test or not, or if she already had one.
Em is doing well by the way, thanks for asking. She's still little though but I think she's got my genetics to thank for that
