Hi Kazzle,

I take Folic acid, Vitamin B6 (for short luteal phase) and Vitex. I've heard green tea, grapefruit juice and baby carrots are all good leading up to ovulation. Apparently they increase the quantity and quality of your CM!!!

Wow I hadnt heard about the baby carrots etc... must give it a try! Im on a whacking great dose of Folic Acid, and iron + Vit C for absorption. Plus reg meds for a stomach ulcer.

Staying away from deli foods, just to lower the risk of food poisoning as Im really susceptible at times to catching it. And staying away from the drink, and TRYING to drink bucket loads of water, and cut right down on fizzy drinks and V.

And cut out ALL my pain meds, which has been the hardest part to cope with, but man it will be worth it when bubs does arrive!

Kazzle, sounds like you are doing everything right, just a waiting game now!

I'm taking the folic acid every day. I've cut out alcohol completely and am almost down to no fizzy drinks. I have increased my water and milk intake heaps.

I don't worry about the food aspect until I ovulate then I avoid anything from a deli and most things from a bakery, prepared salads, takeaways that aren't cooked for you right then and there (ie. not sitting around for a while), soft cheeses (which I rarely ate anyway), peanuts ... ummmm I think that's it So many things to worry about.

I am on asthma medication and my doctor said to keep taking that but the worst thing for me is that I had to stop taking my allergy medications. I get hayfever and am allergic to dust(mites). It's nothing serious but means blocked and itchy sinuses continually, blowing my nose all day long and really itchy watery eyes. My sister reckoned that after a while of not taking any meds when she was preg and b/fing her symptoms aren't as bad anymore so I'm hoping that happens to me too.

im taking folic acid multi vit and goji juice (increases fertility amoung everything but mostly take it to prevent cancer since its been going through my family abit recently) i dont drink anywere near as much alcohol as i usually did and im just generally eating better as it use to be takeout most nights and lunches. I only have one coffee a day and a bottle of water instead of the bottles of V i use to be addicted to so hopefully im being healthy enough

Haha Amber yeah I got DH onto the litter boxes as soon as we started TTC too.

Carrots eh? OK I'll give that a try.

I'm trying to cut back my caffine which isn't easy since my office has a professional coffee machine and I only drink alcohol in small amounts and only up until ovulation. I'm trying to stay away from deli foods after ovulation as well.

I also had to stop using steroid cream on my eczema - which I didn't do very often but now I've stopped altogether it can be pretty unbearable at times. It seems to flare up when I ovulate too. It's on my hands so I've had to stop wearing my wedding ring.

Oh and of course Folic Acid

wrxchic thanks for that! I never go to the other threads as I figure they're not so relevant for me - guess I'm wrong.

That's excellent to know - I'll go hunting this morning for those creams. Cheers!

most ppl start preparing 3mths before they start ttcing...well you are suppose to take folic acid 3mths before starting to ttc..

i ahve been on folic acid, iron and multivits as well as b12injections for 2 yrs now...so if you are starting to ttc in jan next year then i would say oct 07 is a good time to start

I would recommend starting to prepare 3 months before TTC. Even if its just starting on Folic, thats a good way to begin. If you can add other vitamins to your diet - bonus - if you can't don't stress too much.
