Has anyone seen the Butterfly Effect? What did you think of it?
We watched it last night and it has disturbed me on so many levels (and not just that Ashton Kutcher actually played a decent role ). I can't actually say whether I enjoyed it or not, but it's certainly made me think...

I found it very interesting Emma, though was not pregnant at the time. The end disturbed me a bit, but I did like how it tied it all together if that makes sense.
What you might be interested to know is there are actually 2 endings, one on the DVD, the other is what people saw at the movies.

I didn't like it when I saw it. I made DH turn the TV over when we were watching it. Now whenever it is on sky I make sure I don't flick onto that movie channel.

What is the other ending Sarah Beth? Would be interested to know. We watched in on Foxtel (Sky) Box Office so am assuming that is the movie version as opposed to the DVD version?

to those that don't want to know the ending, DO NOT read on!
*** SPOILER ALERT***
there is one that ends in the hospital before he is born
(which is what I saw) the other he goes back to when he was 5ish at a birthday party and he tells the blonde girl he hates her, so she leaves with her mum when her parents seperate (she stayed for him earlier in the movie)

Ah, I see. I saw the hospital one. I found the whole movie quite thought provoking but the ending was almost devastating. I wanted to cry but couldn't kind of thing, it really disturbed me. I don't think the other ending would have had as much impact..

no it didn't, and I think it was the movie execs that wanted the other ending as it was less controversial.
When you look back over the movie though, it makes a lot of sense how it ended.

I thought it was quite good. Certainly gets you thinking huh? We were discussing it for a few days afterwards. Then got into a huge debate with BIL & SIL about how it ended as we'd both seen different endings!

Not scary, just makes you think. And some parts of it are a bit hard to watch, not coz they're scary more coz they are shocking examples of human cruelty.
I would put it in the same category as Crash in that it's not 'entertaining' as such, more thought provoking. I would recommend watching it if you're keen.

I loved it. I found it really engaging and yep, one of those that makes you think. And it was cool to see Ashton Kucher in a serious role - and do so well!

I liked it's one of my favorite movies I just liked how it made you think afterwards. I also think Ashton Kucher did a great job in it compared to the normal characters he portrays.

I thought it was such a clever story. I liked it, but hated the scene with the dog - that soooo upsets me. Interesting film though.
