We're dairy farming and I'm starting to use raw milk for a lot of things. I am perfectly happy to drink raw milk straight from the vat but I know there is a huge controversy surrounding the danger/benefits, especially in the USA.
I do know the quality of our milk due to it being checked by fonterra, so I know the next day how much e coli etc is in it but I'm really not sure as to how or IF AT ALL I should expose DD to it. The general guideline is no cows milk before 12 months (unless cooked) and at this stage she has it with her prridge in the morning, well cooked.
We also make our own butter, yoghurt and traditionally I'm not boiling the milk / cream before making butter, icecream and so on.
At this stage I'm not offering any of these homemade products to her.
Have you got a (preferably scientific or researched) opinion as to when or if it is wise to introduce it to DD?
Are you in a similar situation and what do you do?
I am not keen for DD to grow up with too many processed products and as we're doing BLW it's a natural response of me to want her to eat just what we're eating but at the same time I don't want to kill her with a case of clampylobacter or sorts!!
