Have had this on my mind for the past hour and thought - stuff it, i'm posting.

What is happening to this forum? We used to help each other and support each other and in the past few days it's turning into sl*gging matches. I originally came here and also lurked on Treasures, i found them to be mean and after being told how "stupid" i was not to have known i was preggers with Taine for four months, left and never went back ,prefering people who may not have aghreed with my choices but who at least put it a bit nicer than that.

At the moment people seem to think because we don't know each other in real life we can make assumptions, make accusations and just generally judge each other. is this what we've become??? Enough people will judge us and tell us we are bad parents without us doing it to each other.

We all need to calm down and think about what we are writing. there have definitely been times I've read something and thought "that is a dumb idea", but I avoid pharsing things like that because I know I would never say that to someone's face. We ALL need to think about what we are saying, how we are saying it and how it could affect the person it is aimed at. And we all need to take a friggin chill pill and remember that for the most part, we are supposed to be FRIENDS, and friends don't - or at least shouldn't - speak to each other in the ways that have been going on.

Gets off soapbox

I have to say well said Lizzle there have been time's that i have not agreed with some poepl or some people have been a little harsh with me, but in the most part I love this place and consider some of you guy's to be some of my closet friend's.
I do think we are all very tired and just had enough for the year so like Liz lets take a chill pill and enjoy the rest of the year.

Nothing major Kellz just a small fistcuffs.

I think Lizzle has a some good points, we are going to disagree and everyone has the right to express that and if people are posting I think we all acknowledge that sometimes the answers you get back aren't going to be what you want to hear. That said if you are going to disagree with someone then just make sure you say it as nicely as poss without getting personal.

So far though I don't think anyone has gotten personal as such...or maybe I've missed something else...or don't think that it's as a big thing as it's being made out to be....i don't know.

Yes unfortunately some rather nasty comments have been made to one person by two long standing members, in my opinion they were totally uncalled for and neither person knows her in real life so I don't know where they get off really.

I think lizzle is right, what most people said they liked about this site was being able to post for advice without getting judged, that sadly seems to have gone.

We tend to have bad patches on here where stuff like this happens, and I guess now there are so many more members, it may happen a little more often. Doesnt excuse it tho, and I hope those people involved can sort it out through PM or something, so everyone else doesnt get dragged into it.

I was waiting for someone to start a post like this (I'm way too non-confrontational - is that even a word?)

A bit of controversy is good, we don't all have to agree with each other and different points of view often put a whole new light on things. But personal attacks are not on. If you know you don't agree with someone and you can't express your opinion with a bit of diplomacy then don't read the threads they start and ignore their posts. It's the easiest way I've found to get around it.

I agree, and as I said before, people just won't use the forum anymore if they get criticised (personally) for things they post...its fine to have an opinion but there are nicer ways of putting things than personally attacking the person.

Well said lizzle. No one needs to be told they're stupid on here. Personal attacks are not on. A little debate everyone now & then keeps it interesting. I heart this site too & I've met some really lovely people on here. If I don't agree with something that's been said but can't word it right to respond, I just don't say it at all, as I would never want to offend anyone personally.

This is a tiring & stressful time of year, so lets all support one another nicely so we can feel better about ourselves.

Oops, I missed this before I did my big spiel on the other thread. But basically I was going for the same thing, but it was just specific to a comment.

I hate things getting out of hand here, and it's true, you can be honest without being derogatory.

Clearly not everyone is feeling great about themselves at the moment, but I'd like to think that we can all still be relatively courteous to each other.

I agree, Im definitely not into taking sides that when out with school. There are ways and means of supporting someone without attacking another and for the record Im not saying anyone attacked anyone after the fact im just stating an opinion

(oops not supoose to sound mean either just my opinion, please no one get offended)

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up ev'rybody and sing

Ev'ryone can see we're together
As we walk on by
(FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won't tell no lie
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We're giving love in a family dose

(CHORUS x2)

Living life is fun and we've just begun
To get our share of the world's delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal's in sight
(WE!) no we don't get depressed
Here's what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won't go wrong
This is our family Jewel

LOL Kels! You crack me up!

Edited to add: Does anyone else notice how the posting rate has picked up here in the last day? If anything good has come out of this, at least we're all communicating more and coming out of the woodwork!
