When I was in my teens (so close to 14 years ago now) I got Thrush all the time as well. The naturopath at the chemist told me that I had an abundance of yeast in my system and recomended I went on a Yeast, Wheat and Sugar free diet. I don't remember how long I did it for but it seemed to work since then I have had it back but only a couple of times when on anti-biotics.

Sounds horrible!
Not quite the same, but my DD gets nappy thrush with every course of antibiotics (and she has way too many courses of antibiotics, poor kid). We are now at the point where we apply clomazol cream a couple of times a day whenever she's on antiobiotics for the duration of the course and a couple of days after. It seems to keep it away (I can tell because the last course my addled pregnant brain clean forgot and by day 3 she had wicked thrush again).
Maybe you could use a preventative of some kind at the time it's likely to come?
But I totally get a permanent solution would be better!

these work - get some - rebalancing your insides stops thrush (well overgrowth of candida bugs) throughout your whole system
You coud also
Cut down in high sugar and high starchy foods
Dont use soap down there, or scented anything, wash your cotton only knickers in sensitive laundry wash

Thanks everyone! Saw the Family Planning Dr yesterday and she was excellent. The best treatment would be a 6month course of the tablets- taking more in the first month then decreasing to one tablet a month, but its not suitable for breastfeeding or pregnancy.
But we do have a plan now, including vaginal cream, free samples of probiotics, salt baths, no soap and holding off ttc for a few months.

Hugs Kellz it's nasty. I used to get it every 3 ish weeks from age 12 ish till the Coeliacs was diagnosed. Def worth looking into dietary causes too . Maybe see a naturopath.
