So I started out today trying to be optimistic that by the time I finished work, Roland would only be away for two more days (of three in total). It was going pretty well, and I even booked in for a haircut and some highlights at a salon near work (you know, the whole girly pampering thing).

But then, I think it might've been around 2:30, I get this bl**dy @rseh*le on the phone - it's a long story to explain why he was so angry, but I couldn't get a word in, he literally wasn't letting me help him but just kept laying it on - he swore ALOT which made me uncomfortable, I mean, I know cow cockies are pretty laid back but this bloke really took the cake.

So, it got progressively worse, and when I tried to ask him to calm down because he was upsetting me (even came right out and mentioned that I was "almost" 7 months pregnant *ahem*... you know!), and I'd get someone else to deal with the call... he hung up !! I lost it anyway, my TL spotted me bawling at my desk and made me have a break - I hid in the toilets for at least 15 mins with my heart in my mouth, THEN discover I'm having another blood nose

He ended up ringing back THREE MORE TIMES after that, same issue, same attitude, still yelling and swearing and not listening - eventually my team leader got the programme hooked up that would let her listen in, and snagged him when he landed someone else, so I hope he gets what's coming.

Anyway, I still went and had my hair done, which was nice, but I'm home, the house is empty, I'm exhausted... was starving and made myself (late) dinner, but now because I'm still a bit on edge and tired as, feel sick and want to throw up

I hate when things like that happen! It makes you feel awful.

I remember when I was pregnant I was in a carpark once and getting into my car when the wind caught my door and banged it lightly into the car next to mine. There was a mother and daughter in the car, I quickly checked to see there was no damage (there wasn't) and looked up to see the daughter telling the mother what had happend. The mother then gave me this filthy filthy look and I mouthed 'sorry' at her and honestly if looks could kill- I have never seen such a filthy look. It made me feel awful! I got really upset about it and dwelled on it for ages- of course I was one of those really emotional pregnant woman but it still would have made me feel pretty awful minus the emotions. After a while I started to think- there was no damage- I looked and felt really apologetic, it was a complete and utter accident and I apologised so there is nothing else I could have done. If she is such a bitter nasty woman that she would continue to be that angry for something that was accidental and that she had recieved an apology for then I just feel sorry for her. It must be awful to be that way in the world, to think so horribly of other people.
I guess what Im trying to say is just try to think of that man as a cowardly nasty git and try to feel pity for him. If he can abuse any person, let alone a pregnant woman, like that then hes obviously a pretty horrible kind of guy. I wonder what goes through someones head when they can actually get to the point of treating another human being that way- its just sad.

I hope you are feeling better and that your hair looks lovely! :)

Having also worked in hell *oops* I mean a call centre my only advice would be to hang up on the ^$#@&^$&*$&@)&@^$&)@^$)&@ *ahem*
I always thought I was a pretty level headed kinda chick with a positive out look on life etc, well after 10 months of working in a call centre (waiting for NZ residency to be approved) for a health insurance co being constantly abused and insulted when claims were declined etc I slowly lost the will to smile and found that I was suffering with mild depression and ended up on St Johns Wort!
Moral of the story is... They don't pay you nearly enough to put up with that crap so you DON'T have to! If you get any more calls like that calmly advise the caller that you are about to disconnet the call and he/she should call back once they have calmed down - ain't nada your T/L can say about that as you weren't rude back!

Hope that helps mate - I know how you feel

Oh Jax,
I have soooo been there, there are some downright nasty people out there. I have had many calls like that when I worked in the call centre. I actually hung up on someone that swore at me (after a warning that if it continued I would terminate the call), then took myself out of the call q.

Paws and I had a rather amusing post on a differnt forum some time ago about the stupid queries we would get. Example of mine which will hopefully make you smile:
when I worked at a supermarket and on christmas eve I had a women have a huge go at me about how I had ruined her christmas as we were out of stock of a particualr cheese.

I also had a women scream at me because I had to transfer her to claims to sort out her problem. Now I do not, nor have I ever worked at in claims. If you want to put in a claim I will need to put you through to that department. There is no need to yell at me and then hang up.

And I have also had someone wishing to buy my underwear.

Call centers suck, especially on days like that

Afterwards I thought of plenty of things I would have liked to say to the guy, and I virtually hung up on him (put him on hold) except he then beat me to it ! I heard from someone else that he wanted to apologise to me, but I don't ever want to talk to that particular c**t again ! (Pardon my language, but this guy was really nasty... )

As I mentioned he rang up and abused three more people at least, and we have it recorded on disc - so I hope *someone* gives him what he deserves. He made out like he was SO special, two kids, one still in nappies, wife, farm staff to pay, blah blah blah... I'm not saying that his life wasn't difficult and he wasn't stressed, and TRIED to sympathise with him at first, but he just kept taking digs at me and the other staff.

I mean, a lot of cow cockies ring up and have a bit of a grump, but MOST of them apologise or at least mumble something along the lines of "I know its not *your* fault..." and are *usually* satisfied with us putting the details of their complaint through to management.

We also get a lot of the general public ringing up to whigne about our tanker drivers, as the call centre number is plastered across the back, and some of them have been just as angry as that guy - and I've dealt with them just fine ! *sigh*

It was just a rotten way to finish off a really busy week, I got home and was feeling exhausted and sick... went to sleep about 10:30pm (couldn't keep my dinner down either ), and didn't wake up until about 40 mins ago. I don't even know if I have the energy to be bothered getting my nails done, the groceries still haven't been done and they're more important. The big sook in me has come right out now, and doesn't even want to do *that* alone *sigh* but I'll have to.
