Gee, what would I do without this site!

Those who use a safety sleep, do you use it with safety pins or without? It does say that you should but with the way Bella is in and out of her cot it would be a big pain.

Pins? What??!! I just velcro it up and it seems to work OK (although I did find Bella on her tummy in it once the other day, but I think it was because I had it on too loose )

Isla was in hers until she was a year old and I never pinned it, and she never got out.

We just started using one at 14mths and don't pin. Sometimes she turns over and lies on her tummy but it prevents her getting up which was the big problem for us. She won't nap during the day without it now!

Ok, cool.

The instructions say that the baby should wear overnaps to which you pin the safety sleep. Meant to stop them turning or wiggling out. What a pain in the bum it would be! Will just use without.

I thought you only needed to safety pin if you were side sleeping them just to make sure they don't get onto their tummy when they are really little, you should be fine without if sleeping on her back, we have never safety pinned Spencer in to his.

I panicked when I read the instructions too. I know lots of people that have used them and none of them have ever pinned. I figure the velcro is pretty strong so it would take a fair bit for him to undo it himself.

We never used safety pins either - I hate those things. The velcro did the job for us up to a month or so ago when Gina got too strong for it - now we just don't use the safe t sleep
