Sensitivity to Ecostore baby body wash?

I'm curious - has anyone else had any problems lately with the Ecostore baby body wash and their child?

We used to use this all the time, until we tried out the Mahu body wash/shampoo a few months back, and we've been using Mahu since. Until I asked my father to see if they had any Mahu body wash at New World when he was going shopping last week, and he came back with the Ecostore body wash because NW didn't have Mahu.
So anyway, I thought no big deal, I've used it before, it'll be fine.
But since we've been using it for the last 3 or 4 days, Campbell scratches madly at his head almost immediately after his shower right up until he goes to bed (and I don't know if he still scratches in his sleep or not).   Thought it may have been co-incidence, but I chose to not use any body wash tonight, and he didn't scratch at all.

So long story short, I'm thinking he may be sensitive to something in the Ecostore brand? Have they changed their formula at all lately? Has anyone else had any similar experiences?

I dont use anything eiither, only lavender oil which smells great and soothes itchy skin. I was told not to use anything that foams/froths up as his skin is just too sensitive.

We found the same thing with the Ecostore body wash. I thought I would try it because I was thining it may be good for her excema but then I was told by my plunket nurse that Ecostore bath stuff actually dried out the skin so it was making her really itchy.

I use just plain old water now or sometimes put some Aqueus cream in the bath then lather her in Aveeno baby lotion after wards. Seems to have put the itching on hold so here's hoping it stays that way...

We were a no go with Ecostore here - too much lavender or something :(

Wow, interesting that others have had reactions to Ecostore too!

Mawsal, yeah I heard about that recall, apparently the banned chemical was in old stock, and that new stock no longer has that problem. I checked the bottle I had, and it didn't have the banned chemical, and since then I check each bottle in case old stock is still out.

I find I have to use something to clean his skin at shower time, cos my toddler gets grubby and has lots of hair that needs something extra.

I tried the Little Me Organic body wash/ shampoo last night, and there was no itching with that. Under inspection, both the Mahu and Little Me use lavender and chamomile oils, and the Ecostore also uses geranium and eucalyptus oils, so I'm thinking it could be the geranium or eucalyptus that possibly makes him itchy.

I haven't tried ecostore before but DD seems to get dry rashy skin quite easily and when we don't use just water (for smelly bottoms etc!) I have found the Living Nature baby wash really lovely. All natural and smells yummy. They do a nice massage oil we use after bath too!

Yeah - I don't mind the cradle cap too much, but the angry looking eczema isn't so great. She has it on her cheeks and forehead, and around her eyes - and rubs at it lots. So, something to relieve/soothe it is what I'm after. I've held off putting anything on it for about 6 weeks now, but now that she can coordinate her hands enough to itch it I probably will pop something on it...If it doesn't clear up with an emolient cream I might show the gp.
