I had my appt with the OBs and midwife today - all went well - measurements are good and a healthy heartbeat. Feeling very reassured and more relaxed about this pregnancy finally! |
Measurements??? Do they measure our waists?? Argh!
Azza! Girl, check out your abs! Your bump looks so cute this time too though! I still look like pies!

When did your bump pop out with first one? Prob not for ages I'm guessing if you had a really strong core?
I'm hanging out for a bump, I just feel postively fat at the moment! My time will come I know!
A friend of mine who had her bubba in Feb, got so big towards the end, she's smaller & shorter than me, all she could do was waddle. We worked together and she couldn't even bend forward to pick up stuff!

With the first one it was somewhere between 16 and 20 weeks before I couldnt fit into my normal clothes. I also only felt movement at 19 weeks.
With this one I've been feeling very definite movement for at least a week and a friend was able to feel baby move on Saturday
Poor DH was jealous! His hands are so calloused that with my previous pregnancy if he wanted to feel he'd have to put his face against my bump.

Wow Azza, that is some difference!
I also just have a vague 'pie' look at the moment compared to normal. But I never had abs like them ones neither! impressive.
I did pull the pregnancy card on the weekend when someone was reluctant to do something for me. She muttered under her breath 'reckons she's pregnant but she doesn't look pregnant to me'
unfortunately my partner was standing right behind her at the time and gave her an earful. me - I would have just said thank you... :-)

G'day ladies, had today off work (it's my birthday so just didn't feel like working), so catching up on e-mails etc...
wow Azza those abs must have taken some work! I've been a gym bunny for a couple of years, but was never lucky to have a tum like that! Katep, that's such a neat bump...
0mrs0ana0 I'm the same, feel like I just look fat at the mo, I kep trying to hold my tummy in, silly I know, my mum said it's the only time you can let it hang out and not feel bad
Gr8 news for all of those who have had scans... and good luck for the upcoming ones... I can't wait to feel some movement, not felt anything yet, so hoping all ok in there... Looking forward to hearing bubs heartbeat on Mon when I see midwife, just nice and reassuring.
We went to look at buggys/prams on Sun, OMG, how confusing, sometimes I think I know so little...

Gosh, I have no idea where to start with baby shopping... and then I keep reminding myself that there is a baby shower to come, yet, and I have no idea what some thoughtful people might get me... so I am a bit timid about actually buying stuff. Gonna try to catch up with some mum's with 2nd-hand stuff soon... get as much free stuff as possible.
Feeling very fat this week. And belly feels like even more of a hindrance when I need to pick stuff up, etc. No idea what later months will bring...

Gosh NO Mrs ana! They don't measure your waist! That would be hideous! They measure your fundal height (or fundus) so of starts at your pubic hair line and gets higher up your tummy each week, if you are 12 weeks it should be around 12cm and so on.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Vixgirl!!
Thakd for the bump comments, I swear it is twice the size at just a week later. Will have to start my weekly bump pics.
Gosh Azza, look at the sexy lingerie. Does your partener still get treated...lol!!!
With DD I got my first movement at 18 weeks. However, for about a week leading up to it, DF would wake me up in the night telling me he could feel the baby. I didnt beleive him at the time.
I havent had movement yet, surely it cant be toofar away though.

Oh I know what you mean QC - I went to Farmers yesterday to look around, I felt so overwhelmed! After 12 weeks of trying to ignore that I am pregnant (didn't want to get my hopes up if something was wrong) I have discovered I have no clue when it comes to what babies need! ah!
Wow Azza - I've never had abs! I'm chubby so I don't think my belly will show for awhile - it just means I can't suck my belly in anymore - just kind of hangs out doing its thing really! I must say it is really nice not thinking I really should be dieting! and the weird thing is I am eating so healthy - I hope that sticks around.
Good Luck with your scan today MrsJMcD - I hope you aren't a nervous wreck like I was, I had myself convinced something was wrong because the only symptoms I was getting was sore boobs! hopefully it means I've got an easygoing baby in there.
Happy Birthday for yesterday Vix Girl!

Ha! I doubt I'd fit anything sexy anymore so no... he's lucky if he just gets lucky (and I remember to shave my legs)
Poor guy!

hmm now I'm leaning towards a boy - don't know why! My friend is having twins but won't tell anyone what shes having. I'm definitly going to find out - and tell people if they want to know, mums funny and doesn't want to know.
Mum also wants to come to a scan - but I really don't want an audience! especially if there is something wrong, how do I break that to her?

I very much want another girl, but I bet it will be a boy. Last time I was sure DD was a boy, but she turned out to be a girl, so I bet it will be oppositte for me again.
NicNoc, just don't invite her. Simple as that. With DD it was always just me and DF there. I didn't want anyone else involved as it was our baby. My mum did come to the 12 week sone this time, but that is because I am away from DF at the moment and I needed someone to hold DD.

I'm having boy feelings this week. But I'm not great at this intuition thing so next week it may change.
I wish my mum/sister were in the same country so they could come to a scan (or be at the birth) - I'd love to be able to share it with them more.

Oh Man I couldn't think of anything worse than having my mum at the birth - not even sure if I want DH there! hes developed a phobia of blood in the last few years - odd i know. I said to mum if I end up having scans at the end she can come but I really only want DH there for the 20 week one.
I had a quick look at the Invercargill meet up thread but they seem to meet during the day when I work so not sure!
