My husband is renovating so some very very loud banging (seriously hurting my ears type stuff) going on but no reaction from baby? Is this nornal, is it too early? Or could it be a sign of deafness?

Note, although my hearing is fine, my husband is profoundly deaf from birth, we dont know if its genetic.

I wouldn't worry I remember my baby kicking a little when my husband was using a nail gun, but I was very late term. Everything is very muffled in there, vibrating through the fluid too. That's why newborns settle with white noise so well.

I know it's hard to worry about lots of different things. Have your dr's talked about what the chances are you baby could be deaf?

I wouldn't stress too much. Mum always used to talk about us getting frights from loud noises and jumping while she was pregnant - I was never able to give mine frights. In fact, while I can remember some responses to noise in my son (he was really active when there was music) I can't remember either of them particularly responding to loud noises, and they can both hear perfectly.
