Joshua has been burning up since 4am this morning. Is very sad, crying a lot, had diahorrea, not interested much in food or drink. I'm at work right now, but will be finished at 1pm - is this a "get him to the doctor right now" scenario???

   Hey clare.
I have learnt that if you need to ask this question then you should take them to the doctors even if its just for piece of mind.

I hope joshy feels better soon

If his temp is 38.5 or over I'd be off to the doc's. Hope he's better really soon for you Clare!

Well, it was all very dramatic actually. We got to the clinic and I told the receptionist we needed to see someone quickly - she took us into the nurse who did a quick onceover - temp of 38.9, rash on arms, chest and back, diahorrea..... I saw a look cross her face of terror, she dashed out of the room, within seconds she was back with a doctor who grabbed Joshua, stripped him off and.... he said he thinks it's just a virus, but the nurse initially thought meningitis Whew! The rash was probably from his fever, but has gone now. He still has a high temp, but is generally happier so will keep an eye on him for the next 24 hours, and if it doesn't come down it will be back to the docs in the morning.

Wow, that must have been scary Clare! There are some nasty viruses around. I'm glad he's looking happier and I hope he's all better ASAP

Thanks everyone Stink thing is, aside from my baby feeling yucky and sick, this Friday is our antenatal groups combined 1st Birthday Party and if he doesn't improve lots then we won't be able to go I don't want to be responsible for the other babies getting sick.
