If it is a 2nd, 3rd or 4th pregnancy it is common to show early...but not normally for a first....but in saying that, everyone is different.
A friend of mine started showing really early and her belly button popped out real quick. It turnes out she was really constipated (a common problem with pregnancy). Even though she was "going" every day, it obviously wasnt enough. The constipation was causing her to show early.
Congratulations anyway

Not wanting to freak you out but always be prepared for the idea of more than one lol.
However I wouldn't freak out too much I hear a lot of women can get a bit of bloating in those early weeks. So It could just be that Either way thats so exciting. Gotta love a bump

Hehe theres no history in my family either but both my sister and I got twins within a year of each other. Hows that for random!
When you get to 100 posts you'll get to see the photo gallery theres a thread for bump pics. There have been a lot of early bump pics in there so I think it's normal. Everyone's experience is different.

I might be wrong here as I've never had twins but I would doubt you'd be able to tell if it's one or two by the heartbeat.
And also, it's pretty rare to hear the HB before 14 or so weeks. My MW wouldn't even put the doppler near me until 13 weeks cause she didn't want me to get upset if they couldn't find a HB.

My tummy is reasonably rounded and I'm only 10 weeks, too Bubie. My stomach's always been quite toned and concave, so I reckon that's why it's more noticeable? That's my guess anyway, as I don't feel bloated.
I'd love twins but I've been told that MS is horrendous when you're having twins (is that right, Lisa?) and I wouldn't call my MS that bad.

Yeah I definately noticed and so did others a bump at 10 weeks my friend was the same I think body shape has to do with it (short midsection) and if you normally have a flat tum it's more noticeable even if it is only to you. love your bump!
Bubie-I heard the heartbeat at 10 weeks with my own doppler at home and midwife confirm it the next week but usally 12 weeks is the norm-goodluck hope she finds yours it a reassuring sound!

I had well & truly popped out by the time I was 10 weeks (first baby). Completely normal! Just be prepared for all the ''you mustn't have long to go'' comments They started for me by the time I was 16 weeks
Oh and then by the time I was 36weeks, some people decided to tell me I wasn't very big for my dates! Ah, just pays not to listen to any of them
ETA - and I most definetly did not start out with a flat tummy!

Yeah I'm starting to show but this is my second. It can vary for people and bloating is also common.
Also as AmStaff said, be prepared that there will be a pretty good chance that you may not hear the heartbeat, often it's not until the 14 week mark or so, again though it can vary. it would be very surprising also if she can tell it's twins of a doppler, not long until your scan though!

Even when you know it's twins, a lot of the time you can't tell on the doppler because the HB varies so much so you can never be 100% sure that you have heard the two different heartbeats. As for the MS with twins....I didn't get any, just a bit of nausea Nor did I have high HCG levels either!!

I had horrendous MS as well. I was vomiting up to 5 times a day. Theres was no point in me trying to keep it a secret at work lol.
Not one of my midwife appointments could she find two heartbeats. Unless your looking for two it's damn near impossible and even when you know theres two it can be tricky especially if one baby is in front of the other. The only way to be sure is a scan.

dont worry bubie!!! i starting showing about 8 weeks which i thought was rediculous and strange but like everyone has said, everyone is different!
i am now 22 weeks and people are still gobsmacked at my size but i have just been massive the whole way through. the questions like 'are you sure there is just one in there' have finally stopped though thank goodness!
and my MW says there is absolutely nothing wrong, shes normal size and everything so if anyone gives you grief to just tell them to bugger off LOL

I'm 'showing' at 5 weeks. However, it's caused by bloat, constipation (tmi) and eating too much. The hormones made me do it!
