We seriously want to look at getting some installed for our lounge and kitchen areas which are fairly dark due to the roofline which seems to block sun coming into the windows.. So annoying when it's warm outside..

Has anyone here had them installed before? Can you recommend a company (one that operates in Auckland)?

have you looked at solar tubes instead. I think hometech? do them. much easier to do then skylights. I suggest you get a quote done to get an idea of whats involved and how much. Everyones situation will be dfferent. You can get motors on them so they can open or you a stick to open them. you can get rain sensors and curtains. etc. Id get a quote so you know exactely what your looking at paying if you do go ahead with them

And as to who does them. most Aluminium window places will do them. Or placemakers, mitre 10 or Carters have the Velux ones and a builder can install them

The thing about our ceiling in the living room/kitchen areas is that we have those high wooden ones where there is no actual ceiling space, so the solar tube setup wouldn't work iykwim?
