Last night I couldnt get Brennan settled back in his bed (whats new!) so I put him in with me on his back with his own cover etc....was about 3 by the time he got back to sleep....this morning when I woke up he was on his tummy....out to the count and didnt wake til 8:30 when I woke him fora feed....
I have no idea how he turned over..he is pretty strong and is holding head way up now but still seems bit bizarre.....
Did anyone else find their babies slept or slept better on their tummies???
We couldn't lay him any other way actually. He would scream if ever he was on his back (in the bassinette, car capsule or pram).
I'd say if Brennan is strong enough to roll himself over onto his tummy then he's quite safe there (and there's nothing you can do about anyway since he's rolling by himself - clever wee man!)
Kel Alex sleeps better on his tummy too and I put him on his tummy during the day when I can check him all the time. I think its more comfy for them with the wind issues our boys both seem to be having.
Yep I wish I had tummy slept Isla way earlier than I did,..then pressure of lying on stomach apparently helps reflux pain. She was heaps older than Brennan tho.
MY DS loved sleeping on his tummy and I always put him down for at least one of his day sleeps on his tummy (easier to check him in the day!) as he slept heaps longer! He also had really good head control and did a couple of rolls about 6 weeks so I was comfortable with it.
With both my bubbas as newborns they have slept better on their tummys. This is not recommended but some babies are tummy sleepers and do not settle on their backs. I found our angel care monitor a real ease of mind
Kryssi was a tummy sleeper. Anything else and she would wake in minutes. It was pretty frustrating but she ended up with good head control too. I would put her down facing one way and when I got her up, she was facing the other way. So I figured that she would be ok on her tummy and let her do it her way. That's what I'd do with your bubs too.
Briahna has alweays been a tummy sleeper too. Ever since she could roll over she would sleep on her tummy. and i found she would sleep alot better that way too.
Keira was a tummy sleeper> I was always to scared to put her on her tummy but as soon as she could roll herself there was no way of keeping her on her back. I was worried at first and was constantly checking on her at first but I soon realised she knew what she was doing and has been fine ever since. I think she was a reflux baby(although we never checked it out) and the tummy was just so much more comfortable for her.
Maddi on the other hand is the complete opposite, will not sleep at all on her tummy
