Topic: Slow rising hcg :( Posted: 09 July 2010 at 5:57pm |
Hey guys!
I had bloods on Monday to confirm pregnancy, hcg 27 but today, 4 days later hcg was only 59. I am so scared we are going to lose this one too, any experience would be appreicated :) my midwife said not to worry yet that get more bloods on Monday and see whats happening and the fact that they are rising is still good but I'm not so sure

Oh... hugs hun. I'm so sorry things aren't going quite how you'd like them to. I'm by no means an expert here, and don't have any real suggestions to make, but your MW will be the expert, and if she's still hopeful that's a great thing. And at least everything's still rising, Bubs could just be slow off the block.
Huge hugs...

i think there are a few other ladies on here who had slow hcg levels... and i know mine with my firs child (now 6) were too.. freaked me right out with the nurse i was seeing at the high risk clinic said they werent as high as she had hoped... Its hard, but try not to worry at this stage.

Bella do a search on here, i remember seeing a thread exactly about this and I'm sure it has positive ending! They are going up! Remember I was getting mine done 2x weekly and that mine didnt always double!
I'll do a search too and see what I can find....

Same here - mine only just doubled twice in ten days at one point - drove me insane and I thought that I would be miscarrying for Christmas - and I am sitting here 35 weeks pregnant.
TBH, I will never do serial HCGs ever again - no point as they will not change the outcome, do not really prepare you for a miscarriage if it is coming and can cause a lot of stress.

I can't promise you everything is okay - BUT for Kiara my levels only doubled every 3-4 days and were always on the low side and everything was fine. Fingers crossed for you.

Hi yes I agree with everyone - and I think its more important that it is rising, rather than the level.
Some people have to be on the low side to get the averages - right?

Having slow rising HCG could mean something or nothing hun. It certainly doesn't mean you're gonna m/c nor does 'normal' rising HCG mean you won't IYKWIM? Do you need to track it? It's so stressful and like some of the others have said, theres a HUGE array of 'normal' and its the rising that's important.
((hugs)) I know how scary it is to wait and see!!! Sending you lots of positive vibes and sticky dust

Thanks girls for all your advice, experience and support I am feeling better about things this afternoon, DH and I had a big chat and if its meant to be thats great, and if not thats life. We will get bloods on Monday and go from there. We wont get anymore done after that as we are going to Noosa on the Saturday for 2 weeks, so if this little one sticks we will be able to kill 2 weeks on holiday and come back in time for an 8 week scan. Holding hope that this one might just be a little slow off the mark, and if not, so be it thanks again everyone xo
