Topic: Small size dress ups?!?!? Posted: 27 March 2008 at 11:56am |
Caitlin is going through a stage where she LOVES dressing up!
Other than in mine and DHs clothes/shoes/hats/belts lol we have a Barbie bride outfit (just gloves, jewellery and tiara) and a ladybird outfit (wings and headband)
Any other ideas? I'm seriously lacking in the home crafts area but ideas are welcome
I've had a look on TM but they're all for 3yrs+ and Caitlin is only just out of the 12-18mths sized clothes

The $2 shop sometimes have some cute things. At the weekend I bought Ash a little tulle skirt with pointy bits and some "jewels" on it, some beads, a jewellery set with bracelets, earrings and a wand. She also has some high heeled shoes from there. Oh oh oh I've got a photo, I'll upload it and post it for ya And Ash is still in size 1 clothes aswell. Be back soon :)

My DD also loved to dress up when she was that age. She became very inventive with scarfs so I got her a bunch of them. I also went to an opshop and picked up handbags, high heels, beads, womans silky nighties and those little shawl things that old ladies wear over their shoulders when they are in bed. Not sure what they are called, but they make a great cape!

Here's the pic - she doesn't look that impressed as her 2 5yo cousins were annoying her lol! And she had taken half the stuff off by the time I got the camera ready

My girls have had a box of material big enough bits to make dresses (wrapped around and clipped)Some are plain and some are sparkly etc they are mostly off cuts from spotlight cost about $2-3 dollars. Mixed in with all that are some of my old clothes and some proper dress up stuff as well.
They have played with it for years and years. It's probably the toy that has lasted the longest as they still use it now.

I was going to say $2 shops, We have gotten heaps of neat things for the girls there, their dress-up box if overflowing.
That and it takes a few mins to turn anything into dress up stuff. That's my excuse for still having boxes of awesome material that i won't throw away... cos sometimes the girls have dress up days and i always make something.

Maya has an overflowing dress up box, my fave is a sz 2 horse suit we got at a garage sale almost brand new, it's gorgeous. She has a police hat from the $2 shop, loads of fairy stuff, beads, my old belts etc.
She has a small fairy dress from T and T that fits the gremlins, and I know Deborah got some headbands with ears on them and tails for the boys last halloween.

PS. The gremlins love dressing up too, esp Mercedes, but they prefer dressing up in their own clothes and mine and Maya's undies
