Topic: So how long before its safe...?     Posted: 26 March 2008 at 10:13am |

We are now toilet trained and its worked a treat. We have no accidents at all and we are even going through the night with no wet nappies.

My question is, how long do I give it before I take her out of night nappies? Its been about 2 weeks since she last had a wet night nappy.

I am hesistant cause she sleeps with us and I don't want her wetting our bed. Any ideas from those with children who are TT'd???

Yeah - she will NOT go in a nappy at all, she had a pull up on the other day but refused to go in it even tho we were no where near a toilet. So she ended up squating in a garden!

LOL, stubborn! Maya was the same, at 20 mths she took her nappy off and got on the toilet and that was that, she wouldn't wear a nappy again. But she was never, ever dry at night, even when we eventually got her out of the Dry NItes, I think she wet her night nappy coz she COULD rather than coz she wasn't ready to be out of them, and I probably could have pushed the issue sooner and gotten her night trained earlier but I didn't.

If it's been 2 weeks I'd be inclined to give it a go, but her age (or lack of) does make me a little hesitant, the last thing you want is a relapse with the cold of winter Are you planning on keeping her in your bed for much longer? Perhaps you could work on that transition first?

We have no plans to make her sleep in her own bed, we have both agreed we like the arrangement so its pretty much staying that way for a while yet.

I spoke to my Mum who said give it a month of dry nappies first. That is only another 2 weeks so Ill try that and see how we go!
