Wow that was the best Christmas yet!  I didn't realise how much cooler Christmas would be with a baby!  Ella met so many family members and I took too many photos.  Visiting both families turned out really well, and kicking back with friends for the evening was fab.  A stray kitten that looks about 4 or 5 weeks old arrived here on Christmas eve and despite my letterbox drop, no-one's claimed her, (which we're secretly very glad about) so now we have one very friendly little cat.  The charity donation 'prezzies' went down well enough, and Ella's the proud owner of some much better books than what I'd previously collected for her.  Her prezzie from us hasn't arrived yet but that's sweet as, because she's still a bit small for a jolly jumper.  But I did put a cot mobile up and she gets all excited about it.  And to top off the festive joy... someone slept through the night last night (YEE-HA!!!!).  I fed her expressed milk after her last feed for the day - filled her up to bursting point, and whaddaya know,  it worked!!  Here's hoping it's not a one-off though.

So.... how was your Christmas?

Christmas day was lots of fun....Rhiannon was up from 6.30am - 9.30pm without a sleep, and was happy and smiley all day (apart from one 2min cry when she was crowded and couldnt see Kent or I).

Boxing day she was up from 7am-10pm without a nap again.....was happy all day...enjoyed her first bbq at a friends...got more presents...lol

Yesterday she was at Kents mums for a couple of hours and slept there...and then as it was my dads birthday we all went out for tea...(she sat in the highchair and ate the ends of garlic bread, and hot chips) and everyone on the resturant watched her....she finally went to sleep about 8pm last night.

Oh and to top it all off...when we got home on boxing day, we found that Rhiannon had cut a tooth...yahhh her first tooth and we didnt even know.

The best teeth are the ones that cut without us even knowing

We had a great day. The girls woke at the same time, which is uncommon, and came into our bedroom where we sang "We wish you a merry Christmas" and got all excited with them etc. Then we all went up for breakfast, changed the girls, and dug into the presents. We let Briona collect them, bring them to me for reading, and sent her to the person it was for - that way I didn't have to decide which order to do lol. And once the mega bloks were open Briona couldn't be persuaded to open the last pressie (for her) for a long time... probably 10 minutes!

We let the girls play for a little while and then Briona and I went down for our customary morning sleeps while Hannah (and Daddy) had a chance to enjoy her presents on her own. After that we went to DH's parents' for lunch and pressies and the afternoon and got home for a light tea and bed... again!

We are going to do much the same thing again on New Year's Day lunch/afternoon - at my parents' this time. And then on 2nd January we're starting up a new tradition of celebrating the New Year (albiet late) with roast dinner, taking all the deco's down, party poppers and sparkling grape juice... just our little family and my brother who will start boarding with us that week. Looking forward to it!

The girls still aren't back in their sleep routines but hey, it'll all get mucked up again on New Years and then when Krysti comes along anyway....

Ours was nice and kinda laxy which was nice since i'd been working kinda flat-stick till then. Girls woke about 8.30, unwrapped some pressies, played for a while, Inlaws turned up for lunch FIL fired up the barbeque (which turned out to be a new one they'd bought for us..not theirs like they said they'd bring.. I thought it looked overly new lol)MIl had got everything in prepacked and brought it all ready to serve, and i had to do nothing. (work was the downer of the day kinda cos was so busy) but boxing day lunch at mums was ok, and yesterday mike went back to work and oh my god.. for some flukey reason.. the girls slept in till 9.30! Back to work early this morning and tomorrow. counting down till the 4th when i have 6 days off in a row. And have just found out that my annual leave for the end of March has been approved so i can have a realxing week when i graduate on the 28th. yay!
Janine and her 2 cool chicks, Paris & Ayja
