I just have the standard sunbeam one. If I were to get anohter (knowing now that I use it a lot), I would get the bigger sized one so i could fit 2 meals in it, and big chickens etc. Not sure of other brands tho.

We have a sunbeam 4.5 litre one. It roasts whole chickens even though it's not the biggest model. I also find it cooks a little quicker than the times given in the crockpot recipes I have.
We got it from appliance shed - was nice and cheap though I don't remember the exact price.
Oh and I should add - I LOVE it! My family would starve if we didn't have it since it's the only way I can produce dinner.

Do you have any flybuys points? You can get the george forman slow cooker for 290pts and there are a few other slow cookers if you have around 300-400 points.

My DH used to work at Briscoes...
He won't let me buy anything electrical by Zip - except for the 6.5l slow cooker currently cooking a roast beef for our dinner! DH said that Zip make very good slow cookers, and that bigger is usually better.

I used to work at Briscoes, and I wouldn't suggest buying anything Zip... they are a shocking brand and you'll be back returning it within a month.. you do pay for quality unfortunately and Zip definitely doesn't have that

That's good to know!
Our slow cooker is a Zip one though and has been going strong since Christmas '06! I use it a lot and truly it! Hopefully Daikini's DH is right!

Jess, sometimes the elements are screwy due to a manufacturing fault. If it's still within it's warranty (normally between 12 & 24 months) you can take it back to the store you purchased it from and they can either provide you with another (still under warranty) OR give you a refund

We've got the big Zip one, and it's been great here. Going on a year now, and I can easily make 2 big meals in it.
