   Hi

Any recommendations on what else i could do to help with a back that is very uncomfortable right in the middle? I am only 5 months now and not huge, but have already spent a lot of time and money on visits to the osteo, yoga, heat packs and heat rub.

It is really uncomfortable and i know that sitting at work all day is probably the major cause, but i have to stay here for another 4 months!

Any ideas apart from staying in bed?!

   I had the same problem
I use to have baths daily to help the pain.
Thats the only thing i can think of sorry.
I hope it gets better for you soon =)

Can you get something different to sit on at work? One of those big balls, or those special chairs maybe?

Otherwise I agree baths are good for the pain.

I had an office job and I sat in a comp chair all day but found that if I put my feet up on the computer box under my desk it put less pressure on my back. Can you do anything like that?

Dont sit for any longer than about 30 mins at a time, then get up and stretch your back and have a little walk around even if its for a minute.

A supportive chair is also really important, check the lumbar support and if its not great your employer should get you another one (they have to under the HASE Act).
Hee hee, I do alot of workstation assessments so see this alot. Hope your back feels better, take care of yourself

Im exactly the same, I dont know if this would help you but have been playing around with my chair at work, and I dont know what I did but I must have done something right because since I changed it last time, the pain has almost gone.

I have lower back pain and I am only 4 months and not big either. It gets incrediblt tight and I think it is because of the sitting at work too. The doc recommended some stretching excersizes to try and loosen my lower back up a little. I haven't been doing them for too long so I cant say if it is working yet. But definately get up every half and hour or fourty minutes and walk a little (it hasn't helped much in my case but it is good to have a little break from my pc)
 good luck
