Topic: Sorry... new... Posted: 04 November 2008 at 2:02pm |
I am new to this and I am needing help - I have been in and out of it today and I can't get my head around some of the acronyms.. is there a list or topic that explains the commonlly used ones?? I can't even find how to search.... feeling slightly silly asking.. but it is starting to do my head in!!

Sure is, in the General Chat thread - I have bumped it up for you
The search is up the top right, but the thread's called "TTC codes 101" - it started out being just the TTC (trying to conceive) acronyms but evolved.

I'm still on the wedding forum (different name though) not long to go now though...I was actually wondering what I'll do after the wedding and honeymoon is over but we'll be in TTC mode then so I'll probably start charting and/or cleaning out one of the rooms to turn it into a nursery LOL

it is really strange, we have organised the wedding to the point where we are just waiting for it to happen....and we know that there could be issues when we start TTC and this is the one thing that I never wanted to 'miss' out on, so we have decided to start trying now, but I did something today... I am doing things today that concerns me.
I went and brought a NB jumpsuit, just so I have a 'something' to look at to know what my goal is and I have been thinking about it all the time.
It is really hard to not get excited... and I am afraid that I will let it consume me... but I don't know what else to do, it is what my partner and I have wanted as long as we can remember. Now we have decided to start TTC it is the scariest thing in the world - not because we are going to be bringing a child into the world, but the chance that we can't.
End rant

Oh hun everyone of us has those feelings at some point in time. I know its hard not to think about but are things you could do in the meantime like getting house ready for bub etc. I have a list of things i want to have done in the house before we start trying mainly because once bubs is on its way i may not have time or energy. why don't you come over and chat to us lovely girls in the waiting to TTC thread we are a very chatty bunch.

Hi suzbub I thought that I had seen your name before lol I'm from the wedding forum as well, we just got married 2wks ago but have been trying to conceive for about 2months now. Good luck with everything oh and I forgot to say I've brought a nb suit as well, I just couldn't help myself so don't think you are the only one that does it

Suzbub hehe I was fom NZWP too and after we got married in March I was sooo bored it drove me crazy not having something to plan or organise. Then instead of starting TTC in Sept we brought it forward and started in June. And well the rest is history.
Good luck with your wedding and TTC journey hun

Same Rianna, I was soooo bored after the wedding! I started spending heaps of money on decorating the house etc, it was bad! Then I got back into my old routine of reading etc and remembering what I used to do pre-wedding planning!
We have been TTC for 10 months now (this is 11th cycle) but I haven't bought any baby stuff as I don't want to tempt fate or be even more obsessed and upset... i am just trying to get on with life now as once you get obsessed about a baby all you'll do is cry as there's nothing you can do about it!
I am actually suprised how well I am coping with it, and i believe it will happen when the time is right!!
