Topic: Starting to show at 12 weeks? Posted: 02 January 2011 at 7:12pm |
This is my second pregnancy, I'm only 12 weeks and already looking 6 months pregnant! I'm quite round from the lower stomach to just above my belly button. Is anyone else showing this early? With my first the bump popped out at about 20 weeks. I don't weigh anymore, but maybe I'm storing more fat... or could it be baby. I don't know whether to suck my tummy in or push it out so people can tell that I'm definitely pregnant. I'm feeling really horrible, not feeling comfortable in any of my clothes, everything seems to dig in, but I'm not quite ready to wear maternity clothes!
It would be great to hear from anyone who may have experienced the same thing.

Yep same, I reckon I was showing from about 8-9 weeks this time! Which seems ridiculous seeing how tiny the baby is then, but there you go. Seems to happen to heaps of people

Ok thanks ladies, so it is quite normal. I love it when people make comments like "you are too early to be showing" basically implying that I've just put on weight,

I'm 11 weeks with my third and had to go maternity shopping last week cos my clothes just don't fit. I showed earlier with number 2 as well, everything just seems to come out a lot sooner.

Hah, i started showing at 8 weeks with this one (my first), scared the hell out of me because i had a totally flat stomach and it wasnt big enough to say 'pregnant' so i just looked fat and was uncomfortable about it.

I reackon people think they can say anything when your pregnant!!
I started showing at 9 weeks with number 2 and people said some horrible things!
When i'm pregnant with number 3 i'm gonna have some really good come backs!
anyway my mw said you show earlier as all the tummy muscles are stretched and everythings more stretched!
I say embrace it or
say well i'm have triplets or quins!

I was the same this time round, I was showing from about 10 weeks I'd say.
I had always thought it was pretty normal to show earlier after your first, but I was still surprised at just how quickly I seemed to pop out. Now I feel huge like I did around 30 weeks last time.. I think I may have to get some more maternity clothes as I'll be wearing these for a lot longer this time round.

I had a comment when I was about 9 weeks from someone who knew I was pregnant about having an obvious bump already this time (number 2). But I noticed it around 6 weeks.

I started to show quite early with both of my pregnancies and had quite a big bump by 12 weeks.

I had a bump by 6 weeks, and at just over 8 I've got a really obvious one I was the same at 6 weeks with Cuinn, but thought that was because of IVF - but no, this one has poked out even worse (although that's probably the lack of muscle tone these days ) - so I definitely wouldn't fret yourself. My maternity clothes have been washed and are back in use There'd better only be one kid in there

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling a bit more confident now.
I haven't done any abdominal exercises since having my 1st so I'm probably showing early due to lack of muscle tone.
Having 1st scan on Wednesday, so it will be interesting to see the size of baby and to make sure there's only one in there...

I've popped out to. Now 14 weeks and my tummy is about the same size as 20+ weeks with number one!
