Hay Guys,

We have recently out our 16month old in a bed, as we are expecting another baby come March and want to get her settle in one before bubs comes, she has and does sleep better in the bed, but just the last few nights she has been a little monkey, and is just getting out of bed as soon as i out her in, and it's taking a good few hours to get her to sleep, doing the whole putting back in bed with no talk or anything, i have found that just sitting at her door she will stay in bed, but as soon as i go she gets up, any other tried and successful techniques anyone can think of, we have our oldest on the top bunk so she is getting a bit sleep deprived.
So any ideas suggestions would be great please

Thanks

Not much help other than, if its too much hassle, can you borrow a cot off someone for a few months with the new bub and try again later?

I have the same problem and have tried a few different things... tough love has worked best for - I have left her for 10 minutes each time before taking her back to bed. But she is in her own room, with the door shut. (Also she is 20mth)

I would perservere with sitting at her door, waiting until she goes to sleep tho. I was doing this with DD and it worked well, as long as I waited until she was asleep. I took a book and sat there and read until she settled... lots of fun!

Good luck, hopefully she will settle back into being alright - I canf eel for you as we have exactly same prob here

We shut the door and left our DS to it. Eventually he gets sick of banging on the door and goes to bed. I understand this is not everyones cup of tea though. Hope you find something that works.

we have just gone through this with Cory

and the first couple of nights he just kept getting up and down, so i started telling him that if he kept getting out of bed i was going to shut the door, and i did...i would leave it closed for about 20mins then check on him and he was always asleep.

Now (3wks later), i can put him to bed and he just goes to sleep
