I haven't been through this myself yet, but I have heard from quite a few people who went through the same thing after weaning. It's definitely hormone related, but hopefully shouldn't last long - a few weeks at most I think.
When breastfeeding, oxytocin and prolactin are released which relax you and make you feel good, so now you're not getting the same levels you're suffering from a bit of withdrawal. Hope you get back to your usual self soon.

We stopped breastfeeding about a month ago and I didnt notice any difference in mood, except both being happy not to be on boobie call anymore and sad that we didnt have that intimacy lol
But it does make sense that your body will need to readjust to the change.

I felt PMS-y and teary for a week or so and now I feel a bit sick (like I do when I go on the pill). So I guess it's all normal

I stopped BF when Heidi was about 6 months and I was very emotional and teary, it took awhile for that to settle down, But even now I sometimes feel sad about it.

Yeap, we stopped just before xmas. She dropped from 5-6 feeds to hardly being interested in 1 a day. So once I got her to drink cow's milk that was the end of that. It makes me feel better when I think of the times when she was a brat an the boob, the last feed was all tugging, twisting and teeth. I don't miss it so much when I think of that lol.
Glad you are feeling better today and also that you know you're normal
