Topic: Stretchmarks!!! ugh! Posted: 05 May 2006 at 4:54pm |
Hi all was just wondering, does anyone know how to get rid of really annoying stretch marks that are already there?? I have terrible terrible ones on either side of my belly button and as my tummy grows they get worse and worse, i was using Elizabeth Annes stretch mark cream as it was all i could afford, but now im just getting really upset over them. The cream worked til i got lazy with it but ive started again, but it only stops them from coming but i wanna get rid of the ones i have, you know what i mean, or is there just no hope??

i am not sure, but i dont think there is much you can do about it. try to drink lots of water, as your skin gets stretched when there isnt much elasticity in it. other than that, i dont really think those creams work. Sun on the stretchmarks will fade them somewhat. good luck, and if you find a miracle cure to get rid of them, let me know!

Stretch marks are very dependent on your skin type, elasticity and also how much zinc (I think its Zinc) you have in your body.
In my first pregnancy I used Palmers Every day without fail. I got no stretch marks on my tummy but a few on my boobs. I havent had any yet but have not really been using any creams. Might try Bio Oil as a preventative.
Once they are there - Apparently Bio Oil is very good for fading them as well a lot but they probably wont ever go away. I have a couple of small ones on my hips which I had when I was about 13...they are just like shiny white lines but dont bother me!!
I guess its just one of those those things we get!! or dont get!!

Yip, i swear by Bio oil. I had a big growth spurt when i was 13 and have them on my hips and tummy. I used Bio Oil on them and they faded to just silver. You can't get rid of them but you can get them to no colour. I am using it now and they already don't look as angry as they did before.

Time fades them too so take comfort in knowing that they will look better!

It doesn't always appear straight away, but is definitely working now, so you did something right !
