Topic: Stroller - information/reviews Posted: 04 March 2012 at 2:16pm |
Hi putting this in general as reviews section are pretty quiet.
Does anyone know good website with reviews of all the brands that people can go to when making the decision to buy a stroller?
I was thinking of something like this
http://www.thinktwins.com.au/catalog839909/Twin%20Prams%20make%20and%20model.pdf
It is all about double strollers and shows cost, width and weight etc but I haven't found anything similar for single strollers or single with ability to add a toddler seat.
What information did you use to choose your stroller?

I don't know any websites like that, would of loved one when I had little kids.
I love prams it was the one thing I was fussy about...love to have another baby so I could go pram shopping lol
I think when looking for a pram write out what you are using it for. Always goggle reviews, funny enough that was how I found OHBaby.
My favourite prams are Phil & Ted & Mountain buggy. I used the P&T double when the last two kids were little & I used my pram like a car. I used a MB when DS3 was about 4yrs as I walked to kindy & school so would walk 12-16ks a day & MB can hold kids up to 5yrs+ & have the best weight allowed.
I also go for wheels, don't like plastic as they get stone chips & slide in wet. Handle bar adjustment a must as DH is over 6ft.
I like kids in fount & back or side by side not on top or far out as I walked in the rain so they were protected under the cover.

I just narrowed it down to a few and then googled reviews of them.
My list got pretty short pretty quick tho because I knew I wanted rear facing, able to carry 1 or 2 kids comfortably enough for them both to sleep, sturdy enough for rural roads, and narrow enough to fit down our path and small enough to fit in our boot when folded.
Figure out what your priorities are and you'll have made a good start.
I bought a baby jogger city select in the end

Amazon has quite a lot of good reviews on strollers. I also discovered quite a few demonstration reviews on You Tube (mainly American but for models you can get here)
For example: smart stroller review
The videos are useful cos they show how easy/hard it is to collapse etc
Hope this helps

Consumer magazine will have reviews of buggies and strollers.
You can either check online - although not all information is available unless you're a subscriber - but your local library will also have copies that you can check.
Have a look in the index inside the back cover, it will tell you which issue has the latest update on strollers/buggies. http://www.consumer.org.nz/

I found babygizmo.com or this one on youtube good, they have comprehensive reviews for a heap of pushchairs, and they thought of a few things that hadn't even crossed our minds!
We decided what was the most important features for us and went from there, good luck!

Skiltz, I got issue 13 of the OB mag out of the library recently and it had the top rated baby brands for strollers, cots etc etc. I thought it was really handy when I was reading it but then I took it back to the library and forgot to take notes. Is that info anywhere on the website?

Double stroller may give you more conveniences if you don`t mind, inline types is good for family with 1 or 2 with different ages. You can take a refer to the reviews of double stroller to get one or brands.
