Topic: Studying... Posted: 23 January 2008 at 10:45pm |
Is anyone else out there (apart from me and Kels) also studying this year?? If so what are you studying.
I'm doing a BA with a major of Education (and maybe Maori still to decide if I want to double major). To go on and do a GradDip Prim Teaching.

I'm not studying at the mo, but might pick up some postgrad stuff towards the end of the year if I get bored, Wellington Neonates run some postgrad papers that are good so might go for them.

I'm doing Grad Dip Bus in Urban Valuation extramurally at Massey, I can still attend lectures and there is a lunch time one.
After our wedding I'm planning our TTC and EDD around the academic year

Hey all
I'm starting pre-health sciences next month (full time) which is the first step to getting into the bachelor of midwifery next year (providing I work my tush off and get good marks). Yay.

Nah Susie - never too old. We had ladies in our nursing class who were starting in their 50's after their kids had left home and they decided they wanted to do something for them.

I'm starting my Bachelor of Nursing degree this year, was gonna do social work but fate lead me in another direction. It's gonna be weird cos my little sister will be studying at wintec aswell, she's doing a Cert in Health Science and then probably do nursing the next year. Once I lose my weight I'll look young like her hehe so won't feel so old @ 23!!...Oh and luckily Kahtrell will be at the campus childcare so that settles my anxiety a lot!

Well maybe i will look into it.I would love to do nursing as my dream job would be to work in a neonatal ward but even with Karitane training and nanny diploma they wont take you in postnatal wards or neonatal wards even though karitanes and nannies have baby experience more so karitanes from the karitane hospital training.
A bit silly that they dont use trained karitanes or nannies really too with shortage of midwives
Nursing or teaching I think

Hi Susieq i know what you mean that is quite weird how i thought they would be more inclined to use Karitane nurses as they are very good with babys and quite knowledgable.
Im studying my diploma in ict level 6 then will be doing my bachelor in information system at cpit this year wohoo semester starts soon wohoo!! cant wait!!
Good luck to those who are studying! I know we will all pass :D hehe
Cheers,
Jess
