Any ideas for getting biro off of a suede sofa? So far I have tried nothing, don't want to make it worse. I do have a bissel carpet cleaner that also does upholstery so was thinking of trying that. It's not a little bit of biro he got the pen whilst I was around the back with his brother and he really went to town on it.

Yes! Amazingly a wet wipe will get ink off suede.

try a wet wipe, but before using anything more serious like carpet cleaner, get some proper stuff from a lounge suite shop. You dont want to risk ruining your couch and things like suede and leather can be easy to damage with the wrong cleaners.

Yup wet wipe, DP got ink on our suede couch 2 weeks after buying it (grrr) but it cleared it up fine, and just some warm water too (but ring out the cloth first and just sorta dab/gently rub)

Thanks I tried the baby wipe on a bit and it got some of but you could still see a faint line so I rang the place we bought them from and they said not to let toddlers scribble on it! Some people just have to be comedians don't they? He then said just to use water and dishwashing liquid, which seems to have done the job, just waiting for the patch to dry so I can check for sure before I do the rest. He also said I made need to run the vacuum over it to soften the suede back up as it might flatten out.

Bet he thought that was a clever comment! Because we all 'let' our children do things like that.

Hope you got it off

Haha, I always let my kids draw on the sofa and the walls, but I let them use Vivid, not biro's!
What a dumbass thing to say.

I was gonna say try Twink if nothing else works

Bit late, but hairspray works wonders on getting biro out of any kind of fabric, or even off gloss painted surfaces. I was skeptical when I heard about it, but it really works. Saturate it with hairspray and the ink just dissolves as the hairspray dries. Apparently cheaper hairsprays are better as they have higher alcohol content...
